I am down total of 48 since surgery (53 since 10 day preop diet). I haven't taken my measurements...and really need to do that so I can start comparing!
Every morning in Africa , a gazelle wakes up.
It knows it must outrun the fastest lion or it will be killed.

It knows that it must run faster than the slowest gazelle, or it will starve.
It doesn't matter whether you're a lion or a gazelle
when the sun comes up you'd better be running.

EEEKK! Okay, so have you checked with your Nutritionist? I'm in shock. I know all docs are different, and I feel very lucky to have one who studied and performed at the Cleveland Med. Ctr. I'm shocked because I'm prohibited from pasta's and breads until I am at least 3 to 4 months out. I must admit, I did have a dry piece of toast (actually it was 1/2 of a piece of wheat toast), and it went down okay, stayed down. I did slip and ate some wonton in a soup, which did not agree with me. I got the foamies from a rich cheese as well. I've been able to tolerate about 1.5 oz of ground beef, if moist. All shellfish seems okay as does fish, as long as they are mild.
My NUT and Doc's BIG warnings were pasta's and rice...this could be what you are experiencing. I'm so sorry that you are having a hard time. It will probably just take some experiementing to find out what your "no no's" are. So far, mine are the rich cheeses, clam chowder and tunafish.
Feel better...

I will weigh on the 2nd for my 6 weeks. My wedding ring comes off now - first time in like 5 years. I am going to take it to the cleaners and make it nice and shiny. I love my wedding ring........my husband on the other hand isn't being so nice. I wore my new size 18 suit to work and everyone was making a big deal and made me spin around for them.
I heard like 20 times how great I looked and came home all smiles. When I told him about my day he said, "what is sad is do you finally realize how bad you looked before that they would all be making such a big deal over someone still your size?" That just crushed me and now today everytime anyone said something about how good I looked it just made me sad.

I am fine with liquids, soups, apple sauce, cheese.... Once I start with crackers, pasta's more complex foods, I start vomiting!

Are you having a problem keeping liquids down as well? Or just foods?

I talked to my doctor about not seeming to be able to eat like I see others post. I know if I eat an egg for breakfast, then I know I will not be able to eat something for lunch. My food doesn't seem to digest as quick as I would think. If I eat dinner, I know I will not eat breakfast the next morning. My doctor told me to not be concerned what everyone else is doing....everyone is different. I need to be concerned with how to listen and figure out what works for me. He said everyone has a different rate of how their swelling goes down after surgery including the opening to the pouch. He said for now to make sure I am staying hydrated, taking my vitamins, getting the protein in. I just take little bits of food in and make sure I don't drink anything for at least 45 minutes after I eat because it will make me sick....
Hope you feel better!

Well this am I had a lightly butterd cracker with cream cheese light. And I ended up vomiting it it slowly in a period of 6 runs to the kitchen sink. Shortly after that dh and I needed to go and to a run... well I ended up being over ran by a intense feeling of nausea and vomit white saliva, it could've of been the foamies... But that much?
I am having such a hard time keeping anything down. All day today was rough and I ended up only getting in a few noodles. I feel tired, and slightly weakened. I am concerned about dyhdration. Hower I have am starting to feel better. I am definitly not eating to much I am totally scared to over eat. Actually I have never eating till I was full as of yet, i eat till I am satisfied or content. I was at my sister in laws who is exactly 1 month a head of me, and she agrees my intake is small... The nausea is so intense, that it simply leads to me vomiting!
Is anyone else going through this...
And yes of course I will be contacting my doctors office Tomorrow!
