It's been 2 months for me, and on my 2 month anniversary, I was down 48 pounds!  I've gone down 3 dress sizes, and it's wonderful!!  I hadn't seen my parents in about six months, and they couldn't believe the changes that had happened to me in 2 months!!

My husband is deployed to Afghanistan, and he left just after my surgery.  He won't be back till march of next year...so there should be BIG changes for him to get used to by the time he gets home!

I'm trying to get in my exercise, but getting to the gym everyday is not easy.  Thankfully, my younger brothers got me a wii as a late christmas present...so I get exercise in one form or fashion every day.  Now...if I could just find a way to do that with my vitamins...

I don't know what's going on with the burps but I burp after everything.  Even little tiny sips of water will cause a burp.  I simply can't do the protein drinks, I've tried but get incredibly sick when I do, so they're permanently off my list of protein options.  I found that the protein I get from chicken and fish/tuna is lower in calories and you get a huge amount in a little portion.  You're lucky with the potatos though.  I love them but it doesn't matter if it's potato soup, baked, whatever, it makes me throw up within 15 minutes and I just can't handle it. Good luck with your endeavor.  It isn't an easy change and I really began thinking that this surgery works through a diversion factor, simply making you look at food and say, "Oh, heck no!"

Topic: RE: Why am I such a sloooooowwwwww loser?

My surgery was on Feb 10th, today being April 4th, I must say I just don't know what to do or if this whole ordeal was a waste.  I started at 387 and over the year prior to my surgery I got down to 315 on my surgery date.  I'm incredibly proud of myself for that accomplishment.  However now that I'm had the surgery I don't really seem to be losing.  In fact, I haven't lost a single pound in the past 4 weeks.  Four weeks people!  What's going on?  I've consistantly increased my activity level and have been eating a very strict diet of lean protein.  My doc used the term "diet harder" which he referred to as reducing calories and seemed to not believe me when I told him I eat about 500-600 calories a day and have been getting in my 64oz. of water every day.  I was actually afraid of this happening because many times throughout my "fat" career I diet and stay the same & usually GAIN weight, which in turn I stop because I certainly don't want to gain.  Any one else have this situation?  If you have/do, what did you do to get going again?

hey girl I have the opposite problem I am going to the gym like crazy but I have never been a big water person. Its hard to get all the water that you have to get in not to mention the food yuk. Do you have a gym? You should join one and join a class they are so fun!! We have one called body pump and it is awesome!!

I had my surgery on the 2nd.  I have only lost 1 lb in the last two weeks.  My weight loss is just over the 10% and my body is just playing tug of war with the fat.......................and I am going to win.  Just keep doing what you know you are supposed and you will be the victor!

Well I weighed yesterday for my 8 weeks and lost only 1 lb
2weeks- 16lbs
4 weeks-20 lbs
6 weeks-29.6 lbs
8 weeks- 30.6 lbs

I did have a weekend trip to Chicago- tried to be good but when you eat out, you get into a lot more fat and calories than if you had eaten at home.  Am increasing water and walking.  I really wanted to be at 40 lbs for my 3 month follow up and I don't think I am going to get there.

Congratulations on all your success. I look at it this way try it and if you can handle it then go for it. We live and learn from each day. Also ask your nutritionist maybe they will give you the go ahead to go for it. Wish you the best.
