Hello all my fellow Feb. surgery daters! My name is Robin and I had Surgery on Feb. 23, 2009 . I am new to this forum so I figured I would put a post out there and get to know everybody. Also just wondering how the weight loss is going for people who had surgery about the same time I did because it feels like my loss is very SLLLOOOW. lol any thanks for your time!

Fruit Salad
1 can crushed pineapple (or whatever fruit you can tolerate)
1 box of sugar free vanilla pudding
1 container of Lite Cool Whip

Mix pudding and cool whip together, drain fruit and fold in. It's awesome!

I have made this with pineapple, strawberries and apples. My favorite is the pineapple!

Turkey Sausage (tastes just like sausage but much better for us!)

1lb lean ground turkey
1 tbsp ground fennel
1 tbsp garlic powder
1 tbsp poultry seasoning

In a small bowl, combine the turkey and the seasonings. Form the mixture into 8 patties, heat the oven to 375F and bake the patties on a baking pan for 10 minutes.

  Ingredients:
One 5-oz. raw boneless skinless lean chicken breast cutlet
1 wedge The Laughing Cow Light Original Swiss cheese, room temperature
1 oz. (about 3 slices) 97 - 98% fat-free ham slices
salt and black pepper, to taste

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Put chicken in a large sealable plastic bag, squeeze out as much air as you can, and seal. Using a meat tenderizer or a can, carefully pound chicken through the bag until it is about 1/4-inch thick. Remove chicken from the bag, and season to taste with salt and pepper on both sides.

Lay the chicken flat and spread the cheese wedge over it. Evenly layer the ham slices on top of the cheese. Starting with one of the longer sides (or any side, if it's square), tightly roll up the chicken breast cutlet, and secure with toothpicks.

Place chicken roll in a baking dish lined with foil and/or sprayed with nonstick spray, and then cover the baking dish with foil.

Bake in the oven for 20 minutes. Carefully remove the foil covering the dish. Continue to bake (uncovered) for an additional 15 minutes, or until chicken is cooked through. Enjoy!

If I keep stalling like this and things slow way down at the 6 month mark, I'm going to need all 18 months to get this weight off...LOL

You can do it at least your walking thats a good start as we start to feel better we start to do more. I have told my nutritionist I walk and have yet to add in cardio because I massage up to five clients a day so I am still moving consistently. So in all of this do as much as you can and remember take it all in stride and you will be fine.

Congratulations so are you going to keep your husband in suspense or are you going to send him pictures and update him? I know the vitamins stink I take six a day and also get Vitamin B-twelve shots monthly. I wish you the best on your journey.
