The Turkey Trot 5K TODAY! I wanted to do one more after my first one on Halloween. I managed to shave 4:55 off my Halloween time. It was cold and rainy (typical for WA), and I will be no doubt sore tomorrow, but TOTALLY WORTH IT!!  left to right Toni, Jeni and ME!

when the sun comes up you'd better be running.

Thanks Alli!   About 15 yrs. ago, when I was in college, I took a walking/strength training class. I started to get shin splints from my  power walking stance, so the instructor told me to start "Jogging". So I did, and loved it. Of course life then got in the way, and the weight came on...then it was impossible, and actually I never would have attempted it at a heavier weight.  When the Halloween 5K came up, I thought about it, and signed up with a few co-workers. I was amazed I finished!
So, I invested in a really good pair or running shoes, and signed up for another one! I must admit, the courses have been rather hilly, so there is some walking/hiking up hills, jogging/power walking the levels, and running like the wind down hills.  Really a mixed bag!!
I will be sore, but not as sore as I was after the first one! As long as my knee holds up, I think I will keep pushing myself. No fainting, no heart attack, no falls....just pure adrenalaine!

Congratulations on you run! I am so happy for you. If your sore get some epsom salt and soak in a bath for about 30 minutes with help you. You wont feel it when your in there but after you get out you will. Congratulations once again

Thanks Cathy. I was a bit sore today, and unfortunately I don't have a tub, but a Swedish shower. So I went to the gym, swam for a bit to loosen up, then sat strategically in the jacuzzi, making sure to get jets on my knees, shoulder and back. I am sure I looked a bit like Gumby or the Circus contortionist!  It helped though!
Hugs,
K.
