Being Canadian I have already passed thanksgiving. On that note, I personally didnt have a problem, my main focus was the turkey and veggies and a scoop of turnips. It was delicious, of course i wanted more, in my head anyways..lol But i pulled through! Christmas on the other hand  will be challenging, i have to remain focused for sure

Sounds good, I will be at home for thanksgiving so I know what wil be on my table. On the other hand worried about christmas myself my mother will be doing the dinner and I know there will be many high calorie foods there. So I know I will be watching myself as well. Just trying to get to my goal by my one year date well as close as possible and I will be happy.

I have to say I am a pumpkin pie fanatic! i luckily made a practice run on my pumpkin pie. I used 100% pure pumpkin instead of the pumpkin pie filling, then I put in splenda and I used 2% evaporated milk (fat free is to thin) it took a little longer to bake, but it was really good! I had friends and family over, and we all had pie, then I told them it was made with splenda and lowfat milk..... Not one of them could believe it! I am looking forward to tricking more family members with it. I of course will probably have a little sliver a few hours after dinner

Great job on all the weight loss. Trying to figure out how all that came off without any exercise. I guess it's a miracle for you. Wish you all the best.

I'll indulge in moderation but I'll have a taste of everything.   We always do sf deserts and I cut fat where possible when cooking. The carbs will be my issue.  Rice and stuffung in particular.  If I get the protein in first I should not have room to over indulge.

I'd like to avoid the crust even with the sf pies.  I may try an egg custard with pumpkin and egg white protein and/ or an apple tart with almond and flax seed crust instead of pies.  All sf of course.  I'm trying to find recipe's to modify.

I love stuffing and it will be really hard to substitute for this one.  I may mix the bread crumbs with a lot of ground mushrooms and a little low fat ground meat.  Too heavy to over indulge and more protein, less carb.  I'll mix seasoned rice with cauliflower rice to cut the carbs as well.  The yams are done with spenda ever since it came out and smart balance lite too in everything that requires butter.

I'm supervising the prep but its at my sisters so no leftovers unless I take them home.  Christmas will be at my house and I will have to waste anything the family does not take home.  I can't be alone with all that food.

Go to www.eatingwell.com/recipes or definitely google for some healthy recipes. I even go onto www.bettycrocker.com and they always have healthy recipes on there as well. Plus there are many cook books at the book stores for great recipes after weight loss surgery. I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving. I wish you the best on your journey.
