Happy Surgiversary February 9'ers! How You Doin' ?

Happy surgiversary to you all. Hope you are doing great! I predict you are   From PowerPoint ® to DVD ... !!

I have recovered from my gall bladder surgery...really nothing much to it. But of course, I only had ONE, so nothing to compare to.

I am down 122 lbs. from day of RNY surgery. My top size down from 28 to a Misses Large (16?). Pants, well, that is harder to guage. After all, I hadn't worn "real" jeans, you know, the kind with a ... to Vintage Clothing Zippers for several years pre-op. I wore the elastic waist jeans....in a size 26. Anyway, my "real" jeans are a 18 today, but those are a bit loose. I just picked up some 16's.

I am learning to embrace the loose skin. My bat wings, thigh wings, panni.  I  have decided that if I ever want to give up my day  job, and be a superhero, I will be
Ms. Airborne, the FLYING SQUIRREL  ... photo of a flying squirrel
You know her, Rocky's           Maybe the flying squirrel ...        redneck cousin.

Seriously, I have succumbed to the idea that I will NOT be one of those persons who's skin bounces back like a rubber ball. (wow, that's an image). Genetics only carry ya so far! The rest is just exhausted skin that is telling me, "Hell, go for the tuck! You deserve it!"   So barring any other internal organs needing to be removed, that will be  my next surgery. Crossing my fingers... --> No, that is not my butt, but I think mine is getting there!

For those of you who have been absent from this board, AND PAM IN N.C. YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!
Know that I'm thinking of you, and hoping all is well.

Hugs,
Kathy

Glad you're feeling well.

My weigh in for this week is tomorrow but I've lost 10.8 so far this month.  I'm retaining water horribly so I have no clue for this week yet.  Hopefully a diuretic will help.

My surgeon has lowered my goal so I have an extra 13 lbs to loose but that's ok.  My previous goal left me technically still overweight.  At 140 lbs I will be solid in the normal range and that's where I really want to be.  Now to get there by my follow up date of 2/4/2010!

It seems a long way off but I'm starting to struggle with temptation.  Vigilance!  That's what I need to remember.

Wow! 10 lbs so far for this month is wonderful! I hate the bloated feeling. I've taken to drinkning tea at night, and peeing at night too. I think the tea has a diuretic effect.

I struggle with temptation as well. Do I really want to try the sugar free chocolate? I had it pre-op. I love the WW sugar free candies that Whitman's puts out. Do I dare? HELL NO! I am afraid that I won't stop...until the sugar alcohols have me running to the head.

But still....there are those fleeting thoughts. Then I tell myself the ole' slogan "Nothing Tastes As Good As Being Thin Feels".  Okay, let's face it. That's really a crock! I can think of many things that I would say taste better than being thin feels.  I'm a very oral person...taste is important to me.... (almost to the gutter....)

That is why, like you pointed out, WE MUST BE VIGILANT!

Hope you pee alot....

Hugs,
Kathy

Thanks Robin, and you are looking pretty Hot yourself! I'm very happy with my loss to date. Of course I had quite a bit more than you to start with...and I think what they say, "the more you have to lose, the more you lose"  or something like that...who knows.
My new Avatar is me and my son. I was down in Oregon over Labor Day to visit him. He is almost 20!  (they grow up so fast....)

Glad you are doing so well too! Take care-
Hugs,
Kathy

Love the new avatar!  You are beautiful lady!  Your son is one handsome dude too, must take after momma!  LOL  You have done an awesome job and should pat yourself on the back quite often!  I am still stuck at 100lbs, have been there for several weeks now.  Oh well, I know it will start up again, just wi**** was sooner rather than later.  I hear ya about the saying "Nothing tastes as good as thin feels".  I try to live by that, but dammit, stuff does taste good again!  LOL  Anyway, keep up your fabulous work lady!  You rock!

Hey Kat,
thanks for the nice words. Looks like you are doing great as well! I had a small slow period as well, then bumped my calories up by 100 per day, and BOOOM! There started again...
Must've been that whole "Hey woman! I'm starving here!!! So I'm holding onto all this flab!"  Appease the monster with a protein snack, and happy again!

You take care..it will pick up again..

Hugs,
Kathy

I haven't see one of our guys check-in in a while.  We had Mike who kicked major butt and lost tons with a band.  I sure wish he would come back.

BAND REMOVED 9-4-12-fought insurance to get sleeve and won! Sleeved 1/22/13! Five years out and trying to get that last 15 pounds back off.

You guys are doing great. Keep up the good work.  I am proud of the loss I have had but I wi**** was more.  I think that I have the flab, flab, flab in the tummy that will not go.  I am pushing to the 100 pound mark this week.  I have not touched basis with the Nut in a bit so maybe I should make a visit to her to get some suggestions on ways to drop another 30 over the next few months.  Either way, I will keep reminding myself to eat smart and plan my meals, that is the key.  I hate getting stuck away from the house with no snacks as the bad choices seem to look great.  It is a lifelong battle but I am up for the war.
