Saying Buh Bye to my Gall Bladder
So after my gall bladder attack of last week, I now have my removal date. I saw my Doc today, and he scheduled me for Friday. EEKK! He actually considered doing it today, but I didn't have anyone with me, and for some odd reason, they don't want you driving yourself home after having an internal organ removed? Go figure...
It will be same day, Lap. surgery, barring any complications. So I should be home by 5 p.m., and back to work Monday! I will tell ya this...that pain from the gall bladder attack, which was presumably from "sludge" and not stones, was the WORST pain I've ever experienced!
Hope you are all doing well!
Hugs,
Kathy

Every morning in Africa , a gazelle wakes up.
It knows it must outrun the fastest lion or it will be killed.
Every morning inAfrica , a lion wakes up.
It knows that it must run faster than the slowest gazelle, or it will starve.
It doesn't matter whether you're a lion or a gazelle
when the sun comes up you'd better be running.

I had my GB removed several years ago (10 ... 15?).
Other than being suddenly 'lactose intolerant', I had no real indicators ... until the day before they removed it ... when I swore I was having a heart attack [sharp, stabbing pain, couldn't breathe, seemed to be radiating pain ... etc.]
I had it done lap. Scars from it's removal are bigger than from my RNY! ;) Well, at least the main scar is. Recovery from it was quick.
Best of luck to you! I'll add you to my prayer list through Friday (to help calm the jitters).
May peace be with you

Kathy,
I had mine removed last year believe me you wont want to drive yourself home. Get plenty of rest over the weekend your going to be sore. I had horrible "bathroom" issues for a long time after this surgery so be careful of what you eat. I dont want to scare you but want you to be ready or what might come. Good luck and keep us posted.

Thanks everyone!
Okay, so what kind of bathroom issues? At one week post op, I will be driving to Portland area (5 hrs) to see my son for Labor Day weekend....
Of course I drink so much water, I map out the rest stops.
