How many Feb banders do we have left here??????????
Some of us RNY'ers have results like to banders too.
RNY at nearly 5 months out and only 50 lbs lost. I'm following the rules and doing cardio plus stenghth training six days a week. Some of us just don't loose quickly, period.

LV'N MY RNY. WORKING FOR ME BECAUSE I WORK FOR IT.
I would be very happy if I had lost 50 since surgery. I have only lost 33 pounds. It is better than some but not near as good as lots of the Feb banders.
I would love to get a all the Feb banders over 50 to check in so I can see how they are doing. The over 50 board is 99% RNY/DS'ers. As is the Feb board.

Well, I'm a Feb. bander... I'm content with my results... I knew that it would be much slower than RNY.... I don't feel like a failure... but I know I'm in it for the long haul... I've got 58 lbs to go.. but I've went from a 24 to a loose 16... somedays I do better than others... and I know if I'd just get into the habit of exercising... I'd reach that goal sooner, rather than later.
Hi Belle! I didn't know if you still came to the Feb boards. I know you have done good. I can't tell from you OH ticker how much you have lost. I started at size 28 and am into 20's. I can't wait to get out of the 20's Since surgery I have lost 33 pounds. (The other 20 pounds was from putting myself on a diet after I started the WLS process.)
I hear you on the exercising. I haven't been doing organized exercise. We have a support group every other month just for banders. The nurses running it stated that if we can't bring our self to exercise, we need to be more active. This I don't have a problem with. I'm doing little things, like going up and down the stairs instead of waiting for the DH to come in and bring up what I need. I also am spending a couple hours a day weeding, landscaping, swimming or doing house repair stuff.

I didn't even know there was a Feb. board... I started in Jan.2008 @ 283... I lost about 20 lbs for my sons wedding in August 2008... I started doing my 6 month pre-op thing and then got really serious Jan. 2009.... before I was approved for surgery... ..... all in all...I've lost 85 lbs. from highest weight... but I was 244 the day I went in for surgery and I'm now @ 198... I'm 5'5" and my goal is 140... but I'm content at losing 1 a week/ 5 a month... anything more than that is just wonderful. I guess I've lost 46 lbs since surgery... I go back this week to see my surgeon... I don't think I want a fill... even though I'm not full... I think I just need to learn restraint... and learn how to tolerate head hunger... I've had 2 fills... the first was 3cc/ and the second was 2cc...my band is a 9cc REALIZE band.. and my surgeon told me it was prefilled (the line) to check for leaks during surgery... Exercise... I know I need to.. my underarms are super flabby... and my inner thighs are wrinkled... it's almost funny... reminds me of elephant legs...lol I'm in a 16... I started at 24.. but I'll have to say.. all 16's are not alike... I've got a couple pair of jeans that are cut really small... and I'm thinking they're more like a 14 instead of a 16.. if I'd saved the tickets on them... I'd take them back... they're lowcut.. and I can just see my muffin top hanging over them...lol...
I've got another wedding (another son 7/11... and then I'm going to get serious about exercise... I haven't went to any support groups @ the center where I had my surgery... they're on Mondays... once a month... and I work 12-14 hours on Mondays.. it's my long day.

46 pounds since surgery is great. It is even more of a SV as you lost so much pre surgery! I hear ya on the elephant legs. I never would of though of that but, you are right on.
The size thing drives me nuts. I was wearing 26/ 28 depending on cut and material. Some that size were to small. When I started losing I pulled out old cloths and some 24 were to small and some 22/24's fits.
Good luck with the Son's wedding!
Hello I am a Feb bandsters and I guess I need to stop comparing, there are a couple of people at my church who had the gastric way after I got my band and they have lost just as much weight as I have or even more I am still struggling with my sweet tooth,,,,,,If I can get over that hurdle I will be fine. And yes sometimes I do feel like a failure but I keep telling myself otherwise
That is why I started this thread. Look at you Lovely, you are absolutely kicking banders butt. 69 pounds is totally awesome Yet you ( and us ) are feeling bad because we aren't losing as fast. You are any thing BUT a failure
You can get over that sweet tooth. At least find an alternative means of "sweet" to fill it.
We need to remind our self every day why we picked this tool.
1) ours will still work for us after their window of opportunity is up
2) less medical problem/pill taken from the Mal-absorption
3) Not losing all our hair
