Where is everyone?

This board is dying swiftly.  Have we all moved on to new forums? Hope everyone is happy and healthy and a big looser.  You remain in my prayers.

I've gotten over my last round of extraordinary weight gain and finally lost 2 lbs, and I can't use soy protein anymore.  Since I also can't use whey I'm switching to pea protein.   What a month it has been.

The good new is I no longer feel like every 2 oz meal needs 24 hrs to digest.  I can eat some dense proteins now and 4 oz per meal.  Its about time. Still, the scale is moving in the right direction (no jinx please!!!)

If anyone's still out there holler back!

Once I try a few alternative proteins I'll post about it.   I'm sure I'm not alone with thyroid and allergy issues.  I'm also checking out egg white, rice, and hemp proteins to see which gives more bang for the calories and for the buck.

With any luck, cutting out the soy will slow the weight gains.  I've been assured that it absolutely positively will happen again, and again, and again...

I'm still here form time to time! Glad to hear you conquered the weight gain and the scale is moving for you again. That must have been so frustrating.

I'm not here as much, I think, because I'm actually out living life for the first time in a long time. I feel comfortable in my own skin and just want to be out doing stuff. My girls finish school on Friday and then it's off to Disney World for 5 days! I'm so excited to ride and enjoy everything with out worrying if I'm too heavy or too big for the rides. I even bought a bathing suit to enjoy the pool. How great is that?!

I'm so glad for you.  It never crossed my mind that for some this was a total lifestyle change.  I gues I never realized how lucky I've been that being fat never stopped me from doing anything other than wearing my thong publicly, lol.

Disney World!!! My favorite place in the world.  I adore the rides but with no litle ones left I have to fight to get anyone to ride with me.  I hope to get there in August with my neighbor.  Ten year olds are so much more fun than twenty somethings when no liquor is involved.

Enjoy!!!

          <--- FEBRUARY 9'ER!!

Had my 3 month post op and labs on 18th. All looked really good. Doc is happy, so I am happy.
My meals are typically 3 to 4 oz. of protein, and something a little extra (watermellon, salad, veggie, etc.). No major problems, and feeling good. Exercising about 5 x's per week pretty hard.  Loss slows, picks up, slows, picks up. But like MSW said, it is going in the right direction!

It doesn't matter whether you're a lion or a gazelle
when the sun comes up you'd better be running.

Feb but not the 9th;

I don't check in here to often as I found it to depressing with only RNY'rs left here.  The intitail process is to different and causes such drastic differences.  We don't really don't start lossing for the first 6 weeks to a few months and before that is take major dieting.

I wanted to see how you all were doing.

Good Luck everyone!

Wow! What a great reduction in your BMI!  THAT IS A GREAT DIFFERENCE! It is nice to hear all the experiences, whether band, RNY, or other WLS options. I think that inside, we all struggle with some of the same "emotional" junk, so more perspectives the merrier.

Hugs,
Kathy

I'm thinking feb 09'ers and did not realize I was shouting out to feb the 9th'ers only.  I've been doing this wrong.

You've educated me on the lap band.  I've needed major dieting from the start even with the rny, but I thought the typical bander started out similar to the vsg or vbg.

I'm gonna spell it out correctly the next time.  Hope to see your update!
