Hi everyone!

I'm 3 months 1 week post surgery.  I have friends who I haven't seen in awhile asking for photos as they follow my journey on facebook.  I keep telling them that photos lie!  :)

I'm kind of disappointed because I've lost over 50 pounds now, but my clothes sizes are not going down as quickly as I'd think.  I'd always heard one inch=approximately one clothing size=approximately 12 pounds.  So, I should be down 4 sizes, and I'm just NOT!

I'm 5'8 1/2" inches -- I normally say 5'9", so I get the extra pound or two on the weight chart. ;)

I started my journey at 320 pounds -- that's what I weighed the day after surgery, so I know there were extra fluid/water weight, packed on but ... that's the number my doctor uses as 'start.'

I went from a 30/32 down to a 26 in Fashion Bug's "Katherine" dress slacks -- my favorite since they fit my frame.  What I thought was wacky is that I'm now in a SHORT!  The average were just way too long for dress slacks -- unless I wanted to wear heels (no flippin' way!).

In the 'new' Fashion Bug sizing (Right Fit),I'm a '5-circle' in jeans.  But, I bought the jeans a little snug .. and you can wear tighter jeans than you can dress slacks. Besides, I am 'prissy' about how I look. :)

Sizes drive me crazy!  I have a pair of Lane Bryant size 30 jeans that are just getting loose.  The 28's are still tight.  BUT ... this morning I pulled on a Lane Bryant 1X/24 skirt and it fits like a dream!   On the same note, yesterday I got a size 22/24 B/W Polka Dot Fashion Bug dress from a friend ... and it fits 'okay', but is a little snugger than I like around my tummy.  It gives me a goal. :)  It also made me glad that I didn't give in and buy the polka dot dress I looked at this weekend. ;)

Tops continue to be an 'issue'.  I can wear a 26/28 in shirts now -- even the button up which I went to 30/32 because I didn't like feeling like I might burst a button.  Knits or other 'stretchy' material I can wear a 24.  Some of the 30/32 are getting too baggy, and I'll hate giving them up because I found clothes that I liked! :)

There is a photo on here and on Facebook w/ the size 30 LB jeans and a 26/28 Wal-Mart shirt.   It was at 40 pounds down.  I am somewhere between 53-55 now.  Again, not much of a noticeable difference.

I'm about due for more measuring (should have done it last week for 3-month anniversary).  Curves has their 'month' on the 8th, so I'll get measured there in two weeks. ;)

I'm doing really good.  I was down a total of 62 pounds as of Sunday, May 24, 2009.  I usually only weigh myself once a week and I have been consistently loosing about three pounds a week for the last maybe month and a half to two months so I'm happy with that.  I am soooo close to getting out of the two hundreds, only 13 pounds to go!  I can't wait to hit that mark!!  I still have 63 pounds to go until I hit my goal weight but I am determined to get there!!  Things are getting easier, such as eatting, which actually scares me sometimes!  I am just so worried I will end up back where I was but I will do everything I can not too!!!!

Anyway, you are doing great!  Half way to your goal weight is awesome and you are looking wonderful too!!

Robin,

Get a load of your bad self! You look awesome!!!  Glad to hear you are doing so wel - you're a great cheerleader, too!

I am 2 weeks out now, I've dropped 23 lbs in that time, so I'm feeling pretty good about that. I've been walking, doing the full liquids thing, getting bored w strained soup. I have had a really difficilt time with my vitamins (Bariatric Advantage), so I went to the store and got myself some liquid vits for the mean time ( I took those while I was pregnant w my son, and did very well on them). They taste nasty, but I am able to get them down without having to chew up so many different pills. I still take the BA iron, though, becasuse I was low in iron before my RNY, so I dont' want to skimp.

I've been walking 20-30 min, but it is quickly getting HOT here in FL, so I'm trying to go as early as possible. I am counting the days until I can get into a pool, wether it's to swim or just cool myself off post-walking. Everyone in my family has a pool, so it's VERY hard to resist getting in!  At least I can go up to my legs, which does help post-walk.

I share  your affinity for lazing around the house, but it is getting BORING. I am finally going to scrapbook my son's baby book ( he is 1 1/2 now, so it's about time!) tomorrow, I want to have it finished by this weekend. I think it's a reasonable goal - I got all the photos today.

Anyway, wanted to say hi, tell you how AWESOME you are doing, and let you know what's up here. Hope you have a great day tomorrow!

I don't check in here to often as I found it to depressing with only RNY'rs left here.  The intitail process is too different and causes such drastic differences.  We really don't start lossing for the first 6 weeks to a few months and before that it takes major dieting.

I wanted to see how you all were doing.  I have started to lose now after the 2nd fill.  I have even been able to pack up all the 26/28's and LB's 4&5 jeans.  Also some 22 to 24 are tight and other brands are lose.  Packing up as I go.

Good Luck everyone!

GREAT JOB GIRL!! Get rid of those clothes you will never need them again! I know the band process is different, my cousin had it done a year ago and has done GREAT and I know you will too. She actually lost all of her weight within the first 5 months I believe! It worked very fast for her. Sounds like you are on a roll!! Good Luck Girl!! =) Glad to hear your doing so well!

Thanks for the positive words.  I am so glad to hear your cousin did well with the band.  It gives me hope.  But at my age and weight, I will be happy to have it off over a two year period.  Hoping to have less sagging skin which is also a bigger issue as you get older.
