Alright, my hair is seriously falling out! I am having to pour Drano down my drain like every couple of days and am noticing thinning spots! Anybody have any suggestions on how to help that whole process? It is seriously scaring me!!! I don't wanna lose my hair

I'm right there with you. Every time I wash I have a handful of hair. I now try to wash every other day and don't use any heating tools on my hair besides my blow dryer on the coolest and lowest setting. I'm thinking about buying a scalp treatment for woman with thinning hair I saw on the Sephora website. I haven't tried it yet but I am seriously considering it.

SOmeone told me to up your magnesium or your zinc. I forget which one. Good luck. I noticed mine is getting a little thin too.

My surgeon's office told me to take Biotin (vitamin H) and zinc..... and to make sure I was getting in all of my vitamins and suppplements every day. I already have massive hair loss from a heart med that I was on in my 20s and I was really nervous about the hair loss post surgery. Mine's started now too

I'm right there with you...hair is falling off my head in handfuls.  One of the reasons I just got 7 inches cut off.  Not that it will change things, but it's less depressing to see half the volume of hair in the drain lol.

This too shall pass...just give it time.

Thanks everybody! I guess we are all in the same boat here, but it's a small price to pay to change our lives and improve our futures! Still sucks though

Sorry about your hair, so far so good for me.  I started checking  out bioten and also increasing my protein as several OH people mentioned to me.

I no longer do anything to stress my hair.  Just wash condition and wear.

I am right there with everyone else hair thinning falling out in amounts I wish not to see. I was told to do protein treatments with my hairdresser and also use there quality of shampoo and conditioner also with leave in conditioner. I hope that helps out some.

Best friend owned a high end salon in Dallas. She (and then my doc), told me that the need is to keep the protein up, and make sure you are getting your daily vitamins. The hair loss is the body response to starvation/malnutrition. Biotin can help stronger sprouts of hair come back in. The Rogaine, etc. type of treatments are to get your bald head healthy for hair growth, but it will not stimulate hair growth. There is a difference. BF said that stylists will want to sell the shampoos, protein treatments, etc., but if they haven't experienced or researched this unpleasant and shortlived phenomena of WLS, then they are just pushing products.
I started 5000 mcg Biotin daily. Right on target, at three months, I noticed more hair coming out in my brush and hands when washing my hair in shower.
So, that is my two cents worth. *sigh* I'm gonna watch my protein, take my vits and biotin, and welcome each new little stubby hair that comes back in.

It doesn't matter whether you're a lion or a gazelle
when the sun comes up you'd better be running.
