3 week stall, But......
I had my surgery on Feb. 24th and all was going well, and by my 8th week out, I had lost 43 lbs.
Now with a starting weight of 243 you can just imagine my excitement.
Then it happened........I hit a 3 week stall. I thought it was never going to end!!!
But, while I was so upset over it, I learned one thing........Keep a tape measure near by because while I may not have been losing in weight, I was losing in inches.
Come to find out, my overall loss in inches comes to:
Bust 50" to 42"
Waist 48" to 40"
Hips 54" to 44"
Now if that wasn't an eye opener, I don't know what else is!!!!
The reason for this post is I know a lot of people here go through the same stalls and I just wanted to say.........Hang in there, because while they seem to last forever, they do eventually end. (As I'm sure you already know)
As for mine, I'm on a roll again.........down 5 more lbs bringing the total to 48, and a weight of 195, in 11-1/2 weeks. I haven't been below 200 since 1992 and that only lasted a short time.
Happy Days are Here Again!!!!
I'm sorry to have rambled on and on, but I just wanted to share that with you.
Thanks for listening.
Karen
That's fantastic Karen! I'm really glad you wrote this post. My surgery was on 2/10 and I've only lost 47lbs so far. I seem to have just stopped losing.....however.....I'm going to get out the tape measure because you've renewed my hope. (I must say, it's kind of odd to feel your hip bones when you haven't been able to in 15 years or so.) I know these plateau's can't last forever but sometimes it feels like they will. Thanks for the info and I'll post on my "tape measure" experiment a couple of weeks from now.
Bobbi
Thank You Bobbi!!
As we all know the road to weight loss is long and hard, but with this "wonderful" new tool that we have, it's a comfort to know that "We Will" eventually get there this time.
I know people through my job, and even some friends that think that we, who have RNY are taking the easy way out by having the surgery. If those "Fools" only knew!!!
I personally think that this is harder than any other diet that I have done in my life........and to those "so called friends" I say "Get a life and educate yourself" lol
And Bobbi, you're right about feeling the hip bones..........I totally had forgotten that they were there....that's how long it's been since I felt mine!!! lol
Well keep up the good work and in the end, "You Will" get over those plateaus!!
So here's a toast to all of us..................Here's to the light at the end of the tunnel!!!
Take care, hang in there, and congrats on you're 47 lb. weight loss.......You're doing great!!!
