Why am I such a sloooooowwwwww loser?

I know, I know, everyone's different but seriously now, I seem to be losing sooooo much slower than the rest of my February Surgery Peeps!  I am a bit discouraged...I think this is when I should be losing more frequently because I know it will slow down.  At this rate though, I'm afraid that a slow down would equal the end of my weight loss...Why am I so afraid that this isn't going to work for me?  Am I losing it or what???

So how much have you lost?  You did not say? I feel your pain.  I was VERY discouraged also.  I went to see my doc on Monday and he put me back on my old water pill, after assuring him, I am drinking plenty of water, but did not seem to "go" that often.  Well after taking the pill.... I lost 4 lbs overnight!  Yeah.  So I feel a bit better now.  I had been taking that medication for about 6 years presurgery and I think my body was used to it.  Maybe you are holding some water also?  So I went from 30 lb weight loss in two months to almost 35 lbs.  BTW, the doc says some people lose a ton at first and then slow way down, and some people lose slow and steady.

Okay, Shelly, say it with me...

"Everyone is different. I am losing. I am dropping weight that I will nevery carry again..."

I have lost more than some on my date, and less than others on my date. Slowing down means your body is taking a breather in the middle of the long distance marathon....not that it is throwing in the towel before the finish line.

Keep up the good work....we are all here, together...same fears and anxieties, but...WE ARE HERE!

Hugs,
Kathy

I feel your pain!  I have only lost about 2 pounds since March 17th (which is my anniversary, btw) and I'm beyond frustrated.  What goes through my mind the most is that perhaps this, like everything else, has failed.

I'm also about fed up with .  This morning it was my own fault - I know better than to eat or drink before I go for my walk and I ate something and was rushed.  Not a good combo!  Tomorrow I pledge NOT to eat or drink before my walk!

Thank you ladies!  Intellectually I know all of this, emotionally I am just dying to see that scale go down faster...I'm starting water areobics tomorrow, I'm sure that will help the pounds fall off!

The water aerobics will be awesome for you! I do that twice a week for 90 minutes and then I walk the rest of the week. About the weight thing though, just remember, it will come off eventually. Everyone's body is different and as my doc said, "you didn't gain all that weight overnight, it's not gonna come off overnight." lol Just don't let yourself be discouraged and remember that even if the scale stalls, the fat is still melting right off of you! Inches are peeling off as we spea****ep up the awesome work! Hugs to you!

I am soooo happy to read your comment on being a slow looser. I was feeling really disconnected and discouraged today after my 2 month check up. I have only lost 33lbs since the week before my surgery. I was happy to see that you are at the same place as me.

I was also encouraged by the comment that some loose quickly and then fizzle and some loose steady and stay steady.... :) There is hope for all of us!

Thanks for all the encouragement for Shelly L. and it sure did encourage me too. :)

I had my surgery on the 2nd.  I have only lost 1 lb in the last two weeks.  My weight loss is just over the 10% and my body is just playing tug of war with the fat.......................and I am going to win.  Just keep doing what you know you are supposed and you will be the victor!

My surgery was on Feb 10th, today being April 4th, I must say I just don't know what to do or if this whole ordeal was a waste.  I started at 387 and over the year prior to my surgery I got down to 315 on my surgery date.  I'm incredibly proud of myself for that accomplishment.  However now that I'm had the surgery I don't really seem to be losing.  In fact, I haven't lost a single pound in the past 4 weeks.  Four weeks people!  What's going on?  I've consistantly increased my activity level and have been eating a very strict diet of lean protein.  My doc used the term "diet harder" which he referred to as reducing calories and seemed to not believe me when I told him I eat about 500-600 calories a day and have been getting in my 64oz. of water every day.  I was actually afraid of this happening because many times throughout my "fat" career I diet and stay the same & usually GAIN weight, which in turn I stop because I certainly don't want to gain.  Any one else have this situation?  If you have/do, what did you do to get going again?
