Pouch doesn't like meat!

I'm 4 weeks out - on "regular" foods and I"m having such a hard time with meat.  Chicken and beef make me feel SO sick.  Oddly enough the only meat I've had the past few days that didn't make me feel ill for over an hour is ham.  Who would have thought?  I even threw some drum sticks in the crock pot with mushroom soup all day and it didn't sit well.  I give up!  I guess I'll live the rest of my life on protein drinks (which make me want to puke) and South Beach cereal bars!

Are you chewing really, really well? Do you find it is a flavor, texture or how it feels in your pouch thing?

Just curious because I chew everything really, really well and have not had a problem except the one time I didn't--then--oh God that was horrible.

I tried the chicken again today - chewed until it was pasty - and it all came back up 45 mins later.  This is so frustrating!

Maybe I'm not taking small enough bites???

I'm sorry you having such a tough time with meat. Meat seems to be the only thing I can eat! I tried the laughing cow cheese with a few low fat crackers....not good! I've tried a few cooked veggies and they are ok, not great just ok. I guess I'll be surviving off of meat and Bananas (the one fruit I handle perfectly) for awhile.

I'm tired of cheese.. and refried beans.  I was looking forward to chicken and roast beef!

I finally - FINALLY found a protein powder that tatses good so I need to see if my Bariatric office has any to avoid the $13 shipping charge if I order it online.  It's the Syntrax Nectar - Crystal Sky.  Pretty yummy as long as it stays cold!

Vitacost.com has Nectar crystal sky and only charges 4.99 shipping no matter how much you order.  I have been very happy with their products and service.

Hi, I am able to eat chicken, ground beef, ham but not much seafood.  I thought I would be eating fish a lot.  So, I don't know.  I haven't been sick all week.  Last week I tried shrimp and whitefish again.  I was so sick.  It will be a long time before I look to the ocean for dinner.  I am embracing chicken at the moment.  I made tortilla soup in the crockpot.  It makes the chicken taste like something different.   I am just working with what I can eat for a few more days.  Last weekend was the pits.
