Admitting to my cravings how about you?
So has anyone had any cravings and has anyone tried to eat things that they use to eat?
For me I all of a sudden had a craving for something sweet. I ate a nutrigrain bar definitely made me sick. Also yesterday I ate like six hershey kisses definitely not a good thing for me. I got this feeling like my throat was tightening and my stomach was going to explode. Seriously I am still learning but I have learned I wont try anymore sweets especially where I get very ill. I should have just kept to my yoplait light yogurt .I have learned my lesson and will only eat what I am suppose to eat.

I went to brunch today with my family. I sat and watched everyone, I MEAN EVERYONE load up their plates at least twice (can't have the pastries touching the sausage you know). I so wanted some french toast with syrup; cheesecake; biscuits and sausage gravy. IT WAS HARD! But having recently had a poor experience with dry tuna and dried prunes, I refrained. Didn't want to lose it at the club.
So, I had one scrambled egg with cheese in it, and 1/2 cup cantaloupe/watermelon combo. Lots of water with lemon.
I'm sure it will get easier, and with the bad experiences on some foods, well, that's part of our new tool!

Every morning in Africa , a gazelle wakes up.
It knows it must outrun the fastest lion or it will be killed.

It knows that it must run faster than the slowest gazelle, or it will starve.
It doesn't matter whether you're a lion or a gazelle
when the sun comes up you'd better be running.

I looove carrot cake. I had to bake for church. I baked 3 different things. I didn't eat any. It was a Spagetti Dinner. So, I just drank and made people eat my desserts. I feel like a sugar pusher now. Good news though, Saturday, I went out to eat. It was fun and I had cottage cheese. Just have to get this all figured out.

I haven't given into any cravings but when I make supper for the hubby and kids, it makes me want to cry. I'm not really hungry..... just having alot of "if I hadn't have had surgery, I could have eaten that" moments! I think I'm starting the mourning food part of this.

Bless your sweet, honest, heart!
I'm definately in the mourning phase; for me it's pizza and crusty bread. I had a nibble of bread crust the other night but the fear of getting blocked kept me from eating more than a postage-stamp-sized piece. Tonight I caught myself looking at chocolate covered tea cookies (2g of protein...) and having to close the cupboard and walk away.
I haven't dumped or gotten sick yet (I'm a little afraid that I'm going to be one of the people who don't dump) and I'd like to keep it that way.
How long does this mourning phase last?

I'm not even sure about the mourning phase. All I know is I get those bad pains so I have stayed away from the sweets. It's like after the month that had gone by all of a sudden I got the sweet tooth wasn't liking it. But I did get some yoplait light yogurts and there are many flavors upside down pineapple cake boston cream pie strawberry shortcake etc etc etc. That helps me so much and they are so good. I even get Jello pudding sugar free and they have one with caramel on top it's mmmmm good and we are allowed it thats the best thing
MEAT! I want MEAT!!
I admit that I'm a red-meat fiend. But, it's the ONE thing that I always crave (listen to your body) during "that week." I have such a heavy cycle that I become anemic, and red-meat is the one thing that has been able to keep me balanced. Well, guess what .... Yup!
And I can't eat red meat for another 2 months (according to my doc/nutritionist).
I'm really trying to be good. They know best. They set the rules for a reason. I didn't have the surgery just to go back and eat all the CRAP that I used to. I did this to have a tool to help me get my health back.
But, man, oh, man ... is it tough.

Well, I definitely have cravings - more desires than cravings for forbidden foods, since I am not very hungry actually. My biggest desire is ****a!! (apparently a forbidden word to be typed in this forum too as I am noticing LOL) I really want a flipping piece of ****a!!! I also would just love to eat something "normal" - not even so much junk food, but some chicken or something. I am just so tired of liquids! I have not tried anything that I am not supposed to yet - I am too scared of getting sick.
Tomorrow marks first day of Phase III of my diet, pureed foods, and I can try a scrambled egg. I must admit I am scared to do it. I am still uncomfortable drinking water!
I believe I too am in the mourning food phase - which I anticipate will last a while! Stay strong, friends! This too shall pass and we will be all the better for it! You are not alone!
