One month out and  I am feeling good have achieved a lot in this month. A lot of craziness but also a lot of goodness to. I can finally get out of my bed without rolling out of it. I can get up my stairs without being winded and most of all I am not retaining water like I use to. Feels so good not to be feeling like I am going to split open anymore. I hope all other February Surgery Buddies are doing great as well.
~Stay Blessed and I wish you all another successful month~

Glad to hear how well your doing.  I'm still rolling out of bed.

In about a week or two you will start feeling better and it will also be easier to get out of bed. I use to literally pull myself out I couldn't move sometimes my kids even had to help me. Remember the strength you get from within will keep you going.

I have a four poster cannon ball bed. I would have to grab the post to pull myself up and out.  I love listening to people who went before.

It's great you are feeling good.  I am acually feeling pretty good myself. I still have the wound and the visiting nurses still come, but otherwise feel good.  I went to my diabetic doc today and they did a blood test. My A1C that was 12.3 last Aug, 7.1 in Jan, is now 5.83  which is normal!  They are going to wean me off the last of the insulin I am taking . Can't wait for warmer weather to get out and walk.

I'm also doing great - I've been back at work for over a week (though I worked from home starting the first week after surgery).  I've resumed my workouts (and learned that 20 minutes on the bike is all I can do - the weigh lifting will have to wait a bit).

Had my first eating issue last night; tried tialpia with some brocoli and corn...didn't sit well and I had to throw out my breakfast after one bite (and thought I was going to barf up that bite).  I wonder if the fish was too dry?  I've got a bit of pain in my stomach but I'm getting water in and out so not too worried.

I've lost 60 pounds since this started (40 before surgery) so am starting to enjoy wearing smaller clothes.  I also was able to wear a lovely amber ring that I haven't been able to wear for years...bit of a "wow" moment :)

Glad to hear your doing so well!

I'm not allowed to work out for 4-6 week.  I can only walk and that not even on a thread mill.

Hey all Feb buddies,

I am feeling so much better now that I can sleep on my side and not always on my back!!  As far as eating, thats going well too.  I love fish and chicken the most.

Steph,

Make sure your tilapia is kept moist and don't overcook it.  I'm actually eating tilapia right now!  Just put it in a small saucepan with 1/4 c water, 1t butter and seasonings. Cover and cook on high-med high for about 4-5 min.  Comes out moist and flavorful!!
