4 days out w/ some complications

 I had surgery 2/25. When we did the swallow study it came back that I had a small leak so they did a revision right away...needless to say that made my recovery time slower..anyway..that is all fixed..now I am home and I am of course having a hard time with liquids and protein...I can't believe how disgusting protein tastes to me after surgery..it was fine before..I know I read some people say that but I "didn't think it would happen to me" haha!  I also had to come home with 2 DRAINS which is my biggest problem..it feels like I can't get up and move around as much as I want because of those darn thingsNow for my last complaint I have a low grade fever and a cough. I am going to call my surgeon tomorrow just to be safe! I just had to vent! I just want to fast forward a couple weeks!

Desiree, what a bummer.  Two Drains, poor baby. I am glad you are better now.  Vent away.  Hope you continue to get better.  Take care of yourself and keep up posted.   I will keep you in my prayers.  Hope you have a better week.

I had surgery 2/25 too.  I didn't have the complications.  But, I too have had a low grade fever and a cough.  I was told not to worry unless it hits 101 and the cough is natures way of clearing your lungs.  It helps prevent pneumonia and blood clots in the lungs.
