Well, I finally happened. I have been doing really good.  I tried a food that totally did not agree with me last night.  I felt horrible for a while.  So... lesson learned, no whitefish for a LONG time.  Beyond uncomfortable, but I woke up and felt much better.   Tuna salad is ok, but my tummy doesn't like whitefish yet.  Darn fish!  Back to soft foods today.

Still feel good today.  Just a learning curve.  Good luck to everyone!!

My mom's potato salad used to be one of my favourite foods. I tried a tiny bit of it yesterday (it was just mayo and potatoes in mine) and I felt pretty crappy afterwards. It's strange..... like you need to learn your likes and dislikes all over again :)

Hi Cutie,

I read your blog but couldn't seem to post a comment.

Just wanted to let you know... if you get back on track, you should still have good weight loss for another year.

My weight loss was slow the whole time... but I ended up losing almost as much in my second year as in my first.

Good Luck.

Hey Surgery Buddy,  I think we all have been there, it seems that the only thing that I can eat without feeling like crap afterwards is sugar-Free Popsicles!   Although I did try Tuna salad today and it  didnt bother me but I dont think I like tuna anymore (and I used to love tuna LOL).  There is going to be alot of trial and error with this surgery but we all just have to relearn our bodies and what it will tolerate.

So gooood Luck we will get through this just fine!!

Hi!!  I tried another canned fish tonight.  Salmon.  It was yummy.  No noises or complaints from the pouch.  I liked it better than the tuna.  You are right.  The tuna does not taste the same any more.  Everything is different.  I love my sf fudgesicles.  They taste like a little bit of heaven.  I have an extra box hidden in the garage.  My 4 kids are know for leaving the empty box in the freezer.  I think I would cry.  LOL over a 40 cal popsicle.    It's a whole new ballgame.

I'm with ya! I've tried tuna now, twice, with full fat mayo. I'm not sure if it was the fat in the mayo, or just the tuna, but it made me feel horrible. Like a little tuna brick sitting in my pouch.
I got brave and tried Salmon tonight...and YES! No problems!
I love seafood, and we crab and fish all summer, so I'm slowly going through the list to see what I can tolerate.

We will get there....just like introducing new foods to a baby...

Good luck!
Kathy
Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up.
It knows it must outrun the fastest lion or it will be killed.

It knows that it must run faster than the slowest gazelle, or it will starve.
It doesn't matter whether you're a lion or a gazelle
when the sun comes up you'd better be running.
