How are all the post-ops doing from the beginning of the month?
I've been doing pretty well as far as food goes. I eat about 6 small bites of salmon or chicken and 6 small bites of steamed broccoli for dinner. I enjoy grits or eggs for breakfast. I need to be careful not to eat too fast though. Throwing up is not very pleasant, for me or my family. I am struggling with getting in all of my protein and fluids. I need to look for something other than GNC whey powder, it really sucks. I can taste it in anything I use it in. Good luck to all of you.

When you use the whey powder how do you use it? I add a banana to my shakes so I can't taste the powder plus it gives the potassium we need so our bones and joints dont feel achey.
Here is what I make
Diet V8 Splash
1 banana
3-4 ice cubes
1 scoop whey protein
21 grams protein
Carnation Instant Breakfast
1/2 banana
1 cup skim milk
1 scoop whey protein
26 grams of protein
I hope this helps you out some and your protein drinks become easier to drink. Let me know if these help you.

Hello everyone. I'm doing ok. Sometime I eat and it feels like I will never get that full feeling and at other times I can eat 3 bites and feel full. The thing I hate about this whole RNY is how slow we have to eat. By the time I hit the 3rd bite my food is freezing and I have to nuke it. I give up around the 6th bite of food. I still struggle with getting enough protein in. I get what I can from the Carnation Instant Breakfast. I have to LARGE protein shake mixes and they both make me GAG. Can't stand them anyway i try and mix them. I am doing better at getting my fluids in. I'm down 19 lbs since surgery day. i was at a stand still last week. but the weight has started to come slower creep off. I started back to work this week but only half days. Maybe I will shoot for more hours next week, but I still get tired really easy. Walking across the parking lot or up a flight of stairs gets my heart racing and I get flushed feeling. I get nausous and have to eaither lay down ( at home) or sit down really fast to calm down. Other than that I guess it's going fine. This is going to sound crazy but I seem to be watching the food network more than I ever did before. What's up with that? LOL I have dumped 2x since surgery and it's not pleasant. I wasn't keeping track of how much sugar was in my food I guess and trust me dumping is not fun. I'm more careful now. Take care everyone, and Fluffy glad they figured out what was wrong. Hope you don't get the gallstones though. Good luck everyone.

Glad to see your doing good. I know I hope I dont get gallstones either but my pcp said if I do in the months to come we will deal with that. I wasn't to happy about that but I have to do what he says otherwise I will be a complete mess. I know what its like trying to get in all the protein and all. I am still having trouble so I do a shake as well. I am thinking I may need to go to two shakes cause after I take my pills and get some fluids in I seem to be full. I am sure others have felt that way as well.Take care of yourself and I hope things look up for you as well.
