Sorry to hear that you are having problems Fluffy.   I just came back from my after surgery check-up. I still have to have the incision packed by the visiting nurse for about another week or so. Still on antibiotics for another week, but the good side is I lost 33lbs since surgery and a total of 87lbs since July of 08.  I am still sore, but getting stronger everyday.  Hope everyone else is doing better.

I hope the incision heals for you and you feel better soon. So great on that weight loss. Keep doing what your doing and enjoy every moment of your journey.

I actually went to my pcp today and found out the ursodiol that I have to take twoce a day was giving me the swelling  itchiness and redness. That medicine is to help prevent gallstones. So now I go on and pray I dont get any and I will get healthy once again

Well, I am glad to hear you might have found out what is causing all your problems.  Hopefully you will be on the mend, now.

I am doing great, however I get very tired easily.  Almost a sick-tired feeling.  Had bloodwork done on Monday, but won't know results until next week.  I am getting close to 60 gr of protein a day:  A shake in the AM, and then throughout the day, either tuna, mashed potatoes, lots of cottage cheese and string cheese.  I am so craving vegs and real chicken!  Next week, I think I will be approved to try them.  Oh!  And only 15 lbs lost so far.  The weight loss is soooooooo slow.

I am praying the reason my pcp states is the real reason because im certainly tired of taking all these meds.

Let me know how your bloodwork comes out. I sincerely pray things are ok for you.

I am still trying to get in all my protein and all my liquids but after taking in my medications I am full. So I get a protein shake in then a little bit of food then I drink water all day. My nutritionist said I could have cauliflower mashed potatoes mashed carrots and squash are you allowed any of those? I am so looking forward to being able to eat salads again. I know sounds crazy but I sincerely would like to have one.

The weigh loss is at a standstill for me I rather slow than nothing at all. So your doing great. I will be looking forward to hearing an update from you.

I am not allowed any vegs just yet.  I am really craving them, too!  A salad sounds dreamy!   After my appt next week on Tues, I think I will be allowed to progress to chicken and vegs.  I will be in food heaven once again.  Hopefully I can tollerate them.  Tonight my pouch feels a bit odd, so I did not eat any dinner.  I am afraid to get that 'stuck' feeling again, that I got with salmon.  Not worth it!  I am also craving salt.  I ate a potato chip today, but spit it out, just for that taste of salt.  I think we are becoming deficient in different vitamins and minerals and that is where the cravings are coming from.

I'm finally able to eat chicken, tuna, and soft foods. I'm thankful but at the same time am scared I'll gain the weight I lost.  My first fill is on 3/24.  I can't exercise until next week, so I'm just walking in the mean time.

I can't help but have head hunger and cravings.  I can not wait until I can eat vegetables and fruits in 1 1/2 weeks.

It's been really hard with the protein.  I can not stand the protein shakes and isopure.

Any suggestions and advice.

I understand about the drinks cause they use to drive me crazy but I have found one that I can drink and I don't get sick off of it.

Whey Protein (unflavored)=Purchase @ Walmart or GNC

1 cup Diet V8 Splash Juice
1 scoop whey protein
1 banana
3-4 Ice Cubes

21 grams of protein in the drink

Carnation Instant breakfast (yellow Box)
1 cup skim milk
1 scoop whey protein
1/2 banana

26 grams of protein

I drink the diet v8 splash protein drink everyday. I use the banana because we all need potassium so our bodies dont begin to ache. Plus it also helps take away the flavor of the whey protein even though its unflavored.
I hope this helps out some and I wish you the best.

So sorry that you've had some problems, but so glad they are being addressed! I've been doing pretty well, comparably. Only big problem has been getting my protein in. I broke down and got some WHEY protein powder, and will use 1 scoop per day. I also picked up some Grape ISOPURE water...sipping that throughout the day adds in 40 gm. of protein.
I'm just approaching my three week mark, and have  hit a stall. Same weight for past three days. Also, since I am a nightowl, I find myself hungry around 11 p.m. So, I've been taking my water to the computer (thus here I am).
I'm curious as to the volume everyone is able to eat? I get in bout 1/4 cup to just under 1/2 cup of cottage cheese, egg beater, etc.

Feel better soon....!!!

It doesn't matter whether you're a lion or a gazelle
when the sun comes up you'd better be running.

I am lucky to get in 1-2 ounces of food a day that is why I am still drinking the protein shakes. My nutritionist said it may take me a while to get in foods so I am taking my time and not pushing it. I hope things are going good for you and I know what you mean about the 11 p.m. munchies. I have had a few nights where I am hungry late But I have learned if I dont stay away then I will become and I have gotten that way three times since the surgery so now I drink fluids at night.
