Post op complications

Hi Everyone,

I had my surgery on the 18Th of Feb. and did not leave the hospital until the 23rd .  First day things were fine but when I went for my swallowing test the contrast made me sick I could not keep the first cup down, tried again the contrast sat in my pouch which was so tight because of the amount dye that needed to be ingested.

It did my go through do to the swelling of the after surgery so it stayed in my pouch until it trickled through.

I could not get anything else down for a couple of days,my intestines would not start gurgling on passing anything through, so until I let the flatulence fly I could not leave. Day 6 and still nothing so I came home and finally my bowels moved and it was like tar and I feel so much better.

I lost 10lbs for pre op a I had so many IV's the fluid came on fast but since yesterday I went to the restroom so much that I am back to the preop weight. Still on clear liquid diet and still have the drain. First follow up is tomorrow hopefully everything is OK.

Sometimes that contrast just doesn't work/sit well with some people! I'm so glad it all finally checked out well and you were able to come home. The weight will start melting off soon, especially now that your bladder and bowels are getting back into a routine.
Take Care, and don't pu****

It doesn't matter whether you're a lion or a gazelle
when the sun comes up you'd better be running.

Glad to hear you are on the upswing.  I was able to sleep in my bed and on my side right away.
