Is it Friday yet!

Oooooo--sleep til Friday...  What an outstanding idea!  How about sleep until Saturday?  Even better!  I had to take a tranquilizer today and I expect another tomorrow (along with an Ambien tomorrow night).  Wow--think I lucked out though--NO bowel prep whatsoever.  Citrate of magnesia?  Ugh!  This isn't a colonoscopy for crying out loud!  Maybe with the RNY the intestines have to be completely clean?  I'm having the sleeve (and a hernia repair of the diaphram) so no intestinal involvement.

Btw--I'm to begin my protein shakes IMMEDIATELY (after any nausea).  No clear liquids at home at all (if the shakes are tolerated).  I've been told to sip 2 tablespoons every 15 min. or so, along with water (as much as I can sip between 60 grams of protein drinks).  I'll be on that diet for a month.  Found out too that they put a scopolamine patch behind my ear on admission for nausea!  Thought that was a neat idea!

Just got back from Target--found a loose fitting cotton stretchy dress to wear home and some very loose panties!  Don't want any pressure or rubbing on the incision sites.  Oh, and got some GasX chewables too!  Now I need to find the thingy I purchased when I had my hysterectomy that picks things up off the floor--found that REALLY useful--and my wedge pillow.  The doc says it's best to stay at about 30 degrees head elevated for reflux aid.

Well gals, Daisy, Christine and all the others scheduled this week--this is it!  I bet we've all waited and dreamed of this happening for quite some time and here it is...  Praying for us all--quick recoveries and easy hospitalizations.  Deep breath Susan....

My best wishes,
Susan

Susan,
The patch for nausea sounds great... I don't know if we will get that or not. I can't wait for all the results and to hear you are all doing great. I will let you all know how it all works out. I am sure I will be fine, and it is all for the best. I'll say a prayer and it will be taken care of. Talk to you all soon.

OK Susan, what I want to know is how much extra , or who, you had to pay, not to have to do the bowel prep before hand?  Waaaa!
Both Daisy and I are also having the sleeve.  No fair!    (can you tell I've never seen such cute smileys as on this site?)

I have decided to use the prep time productively stitching head pieces for my older daughter's synchronized swim team...not as if I'll have anything else lined up to do.  Anything to keep from dwelling on the rest of the preparations. Just getting out the door on time in the morning will be my toughest challenge.

Gasx chewables; sounds like a good idea.  I did pick up some of those instant heating pads as I had heard that putting heat on your shoulders helps with the gas from the lap. inflation.
I'd better head off to bed now.
Blessings,
Christine

ChristineJ,
Thank you for the tips, it actually had me giggling about the throne part. I guess I won't be on here as often tomorrow.

Hope everything is going well for you also, and will see you or chat at you tomorrow or after the whole thing is over.
God bless and all will be fine.

Hi Daisy,
I know exactly how you're feeling. my surgery date is the 26th. I'm having the RNY via lap.
I have two bags packed, only because I'm taking reading material. I usually don't sleep well because I have fibromyalgia so i want to be able to do something to make the time move.
We are entering a new phase of our lives, its exciting and scary at the same time, but I know its going to be the best journey we've ever taken. No more  searching for plus size stores. The money we save on food is gona look great in our closets. besides al the money we'll save on getting off prescriptions. Good luck to you, may you heal quickly ans god bless
