Beginning of February People----Results so far??
Just curious how our beginning of the month people are doing in regards to weight loss, getting fluids in....... etc
What kind of post op plan are you on?
Updates people....LOL!!!
Way to go keeping us on track with sharing the details Stephanie :)
I've been very fortunate, I've been able to get all my fluids and 50-60g of protein in every day since I came home. I've just moved to the pureed food stage and am really enjoying it (especially since I staged a revolt and refused to deal with almost all protein powder after the first week. Metagenics Ultrameal is the only one I can face).
I've lost about 15 pounds in the two weeks since I've been home. Selfish critter that I am, I wi**** were more but my clothes are getting too big and that's a ton of fun!

100+ pounds lost
Under 250 pounds (first time in decades)
Weigh less than husband for first time
I started my protein shakes yesterday and all I have to say is that I'm so glad I only do them for 2 weeks!! It's sickly sweet! Mind you, I may not have thought that if I were to drink them pre op. The same Kool Aid that I was drinking pre op now has to be diluted because it's way too sweet...LOL
That's great that you can get in all your fluids right away, I'm still having troubles with that.
I was on liquids post-op for week 1. Week 2 is puree. Week 3 is thick puree/blend. Week 4 is soft regular foods. Week 5 is just regular foods.
I'm eating three meals per day, plus I have a glass of milk 1/2 hr. before breakfast to take my meds with.
In the 10 days post op I am down 19 lbs. which with a higher BMI is right on track.
Let me know how you are progessing & Take care!

It knows that it must run faster than the slowest gazelle, or it will starve.
It doesn't matter whether you're a lion or a gazelle
when the sun comes up you'd better be running.
RNY 2/9/09 Buh bye Gallbladder 8/28/09; 100% EWL (181 lbs.) on 2/19/10;
The only progress I've seen so far is that Tylenol is now making the pain bareable and the pj pants I wore at the hospital had to be adjusted to keep from falling off of me by the end of my stay there...LOL! I plan on stepping onto a scale when I get home tomorrow just out of curiosity.
Things are going pretty well with me. I was 2 weeks out yesterday and had my first dinner out last night. I was moved to pureed foods last Monday and had my staples and drain removed. I felt like a new person. I'm for the most part, getting all my protein in with two daily protein shakes. These haven't been a problem and I like the same protein powder that I used before surgery. I am having some trouble with water. I'm only managing about 8 ounces a day. I talked to my nut yesterday and she told me to try to get 8 more ounces in each day and that should be good for a while. The problem is tha****er , no matter what I do to it, just doesn't sit well in my pouch. It is slowly getting better though. I feel fine. Not weak at all. I'm down 18 pounds since surgery. Food wise, I'm getting in 2 - 2 ounce meals per day. My nut wants me to try 3 - 3 ounce meals per day and I'm working on that. On the whole, I feel good.

Yesterday was the first day I ate. Had some pork and some mashed potatoes poured some gravy over the pork so it would be moist and I also cut into tiny pieces.
