I'm Home!

Thanks guys for your well wishes! It is now the third day post-op and I am feeling great! Finally starting to get some relief from the gas, but it is much better than it was the other day! As gross as it sounds the only way I was able to relieve the gas was to get on all fours on my bed! It helped IMMENSELY! I can't wait to see the results from this life-changing experience! I am doing well with the water, but it is a struggle to eat! I have been able to get some jello and broth in so all is well I guess! I went out shopping yesterday with my mom and walked for like an hour straight, I was exhausted and sore by the end of it, but I feel great today! I have been blessed with the ability to adapt to this new stomach with little to no complications. I have yet to puke or get sick, so that is good news to me! I have been running a low-grade fever (99.5) for the last few days, is this something that is normal for all? Just wondering! Anyways, thanks again for being a great support system!

I was just thinking about you this morning Shelba.  I was going to post something to see if anyone had an update and when I came onto the board.   There you were- home already.   Congrats on making it to the losers bench.  I will be with you there next week.

Shelba, glad to hear you are doing well. Don't overdo it with too much walking. I found that I didn't have any complications with food until I started solids. That is when you'll see what you can and can't eat. I didn't get sic****il about 3-4 weeks after surgery when the doctor ok'd more choices for food. As long as you don't overeat, eat moist foods, and chew the heck out of them, you should be ok for the most part.

I can't wait to see your posts once your body recovers more and the pounds start dropping! After the initial gassiness is over, and your body heals, all of the sudden you'll step on the scale and be down several pounds.

If you need anything, have my sisters give you my number! Take care! - Susan
