What have you been pureeing? What's your favorite pureed meal? Can you tell I'm counting the days until I hit this stage, lol. Full liquids has been heaven compared to the clear liquids. Cream of Chicken soup is so nummy! I only used it in recipes before surgery. Never thought of trying to eat it as soup, lol.

Theres a great book out you can go and get

EATING WELL AFTER WEIGHT LOSS SURGERY
There are a whole bunch of recipes in the book that are able to be pureed and also reg. My doctor has allowed me some foods like chicken turkey tuna fish scallops wheat thins cheese carrots mashed potatoes peaches pears bananas and the usual pudding jello  sugar free and also yogurt. I will do this diet until april 6th then I will start my reg meal lifetime menu. I had some tuna tonight and also cheese and crackers. It's so hard to wait 30 minutes after eating to drink but I felt it once and I never want to feel sick like that again so I will wait those thirty.

with me, anything i make for the family i find a way to alter so its healthy for me, full of protein and will taste ok pureed.

for example, tonight i made the family chicken and pasta alfredo.....

i baked boneless skinless chicken breast in cream of chicken soup for 1 hour with it covered with al. foil. after that i cut it into small chunks...and added my alfredo sauce (you can get the generic at walmart for $2 and it is fantastic! before i added the pasta i took my digital scale and weighed out 3.5 oz. and put that in the blender while i added the pasta to the pan.  added 16g of cheese and put in the microwave for a few seconds....perfect!

it was 25 g of protein for the chicken
16g of cheese was right at 5g of protein!

delicious!

the cook book is helpful also, but for someone like me its easier to make things im used to and alter them as to introduce my family to all new eating habits.  the boyfriend would be really upset if he couldnt have "fatty foods"  lol

Yesterday was my first puree day (and it was fantastic!).  Here's what I ate through the day:

Breakfast
Chocolate Malt-o-meal with 1 scoop (half serving) of Raspberry flavored Metagenics Ultrameal protein powder.  Protein= 10g

Lunch
Gerber beef baby food (husband bought it, decided to give it a try - not bad with some salt and pepper).  Protein = 8g

Afternoon "Snack"
half bottle of Isopure (10oz).  Protein = 10g

Dinner
Cheesy potato soup with ham.  Protein = 17g

Evening Snack
8oz skim milk,.  Protein = 8g

Total protein for day = 62g

The best part of the day is that I sat down to dinner with Husband and a good friend  - and I ate the SAME THING they did (though my was blended to paste).  This tiny piece of normality was so overwhelming that I cried a little.  Good day!

Today I had leftover potato soup and made Ricotta crab pate (pizza sauce, ricotta cheese, crab meat blended together,  Very tasty and 13g of protein.   I made the same thing, unblended, and put it on rotini noodles for my husband and twith grated cheese on top.  He loved it.  He says he's eating better now than before the surgery.  :)

I pureed 4 oz. of grilled, skinless chicken breast along with 1/4 c. of Mango Peach Salsa, then reheated in the microwave. It was wonderful, and the spices sat just fine!  I did divide up into to services, and will have the second for lunch tomorrow.

It doesn't matter whether you're a lion or a gazelle
when the sun comes up you'd better be running.
