Never thought Pureed foods would be so welcome!

OMG!  Today, I cooked lasagna for my entire family, and I was a little upset because I make really good lasagna and I wanted it so bad.....

 

well....there was left over sauce with beef, and cottage cheese, so what did i do....TOSSED IT IN THE BLENDER!! pureed the meat and sauce, put it in the pan, added the cottage cheese and the cheese on top....

 

IT WAS FANTASTIC!!

 

Tomorrow....Chicken Alfredo minus the noodles!!  WOOT WOOT FOR PUREED!  I was so tired of clear liquids....and thick liquids!!

I hear ya Marla! I get to start Pureed on Wednesday. I told my family it was taco night. I plan on taking the xtra lean beef, refried beans, sharp cheddar, and onions, and hitting the blender then under broiler to re-heat.
  I've been looking forward to ricotta with marinara sauce too!!!

I cant wait until wednesday my surgeon will give me the okay for pureed foods. I am so looking forward to this next stage

Wow sounds yummy.  I am not allowed any beef, though for several months.  But ground turkey, maybe?  I will have to check.

This is what I find so confusing.  The differences in food rules by the surgeons.  You all have had the same surgery about the same time but, one can't have beef for three months and the others a week or two out. 

I'm dying on a 15 day liquid diet while others eat normal up to the night before.  Go figure

I can't wait till I can eat the above stuff either.  Sounds GREAT.

after you put is in the pan (was that the pan you made the stuff for the family in?)  added the cheeses did you cook it?  Broil it?

i totally understand!  i guess i was one of the lucky ones, i didnt have to do a pre op diet other than the bowel prep the day before.  (thank goodness) 

I am allowed to eat pretty much whatever as long as its high protein and is pureed.  

Trust me, I went to my two week post op appt yesterday to find out im not getting enough liquids.... great...back to liquids..lol

Also, I PROMISE!  its better to do the diet than have your dr tell you, U have a fatty liver, but its alright we didnt hit it!!!

Just keep up the good work and youll be on the losers bench sooner than you think!

OMG....I have been thinking about your post all night! That sounds so incredible!

I start full liquids in the morning and I can not wait! I'm starting to get a little weak from the lack of calories. I just hope my pouch handles the new liquids well.

I am so tied of my full liquid diet also!!! I did get to eat normal until the day before where I was on a clear liquid diet. I have to be on the liquids for 20 days!!! I am so ready to welcome the pureed foods!!! like even a piece of string cheese right now would be awesome!!!!!!!
