Hi, Marla!  I have been progressed to eggs, beans and cheese, tuna, salmon (moist),cottage cheese, mashed potatoes, yogurt, applesauce.

Yesterday I had taco bell pintos and cheese. I have about 1/4 of it and threw the rest away!  It was a first and I was afraid of getting sick.  Then at home I had cottage cheese. I was in heaven!
Today I had some salmon and tuna for lunch and dinner. For breakfast I fixed a scrambled egg, but it did not want to "go down" and felt stuck, so I gave it up after two bites.  For desert, I made protein popscicles. For valentines, I will chose probably some fish.

You MUST come off the cottage cheese pancakes recipe!! The family had pancakes for breakfast and I was lonely!

Thanks!

Denise

Had my first "real meal" post op today.  Pureed turkey burger with string string beans.  No bun of course.  It was actually pretty good but I think I need to puree the meat a little softer.  Bonus, the hot food seems to help me get rid of some of this gas.

With all the sipping liquids I'm always full.  I had to give up sipping for a little while to make room for a meal.  The gas does not help but at least its not too painful.

I've had breakfast and the mid morning protein shake and I cannot even think about lunch yet.  I was a little hungry yesterday when I skipped my jello but today I'm a little too full.

I don't think I'll get all of my food or liquid in today.  I can't imagine being able to hold it.

I've been on pureed foods since Tuesday.  I never liked taco bell refried beans until now.  I've had pureed chicken salad.  Chicken, egg, mayo and pickle processed very fine.  I added extra pickle juice to make it moist.  Very Good. Grits have been good, just don't eat much.  I've gone to Egg Face site and she has some good recipes for pureed diets.

I was told not to drink 30 minutes before or after a meal so that's been hard to remember.

This has been better than just liquids.  Looking forward to the next step.

My surgery has made me feel like I'm so in control of what I'm eating.  That is a blessing.

I eat soft foods.  The thought of pureed grosses me out. My favorites are:

-grits with cheese
-eggs with cheese
-saltines with pb

Good luck to everyone on their special diets!

I'm in the puree stage as well. I've done ff refrieds with cheese and a bit of salsa and last night I made ricotta with skim mozzerella and a little parmesan with a low-sugar beef spaghetti sauce and baked it in little ramekins. It was a nice alternative to the ziti everyone was eating. I'm thinking tonight will be another unziti ramekin for dinner. The family is getting pizza, so at least I'll be in the Italian realm. Breakfasts are challenging for me because I am soooooo used to cereal and waffles and such. I'm pretty sure I'd trade one of my toes for a pancake!! I've also pureed chicken with Idahoan brand instant potatoes. They are so good!! I added a 1/2 scoop of unflavored protein powder to them, so I had mashed potatoes with 10g protein! Added a little jarred low fat gravy and it was really yummy.

Trying to use my imagination. I need to find some "sweets" alternatives soon with all this Valentine's day junk floating around me. I've done sf pudding, but thought maybe a little cool whip and a 1/4 banana and make like a parfait might be a nice treat. Ooh, I might do that for "dessert" tonight.

I should say I almost ALWAYS add protein powder to stuff like pudding and the tatos.

I hope everyone has great day!

Denise
