Just three days till our surgical "due date" then we are re-born!

Yesterday was my pre-op physical.  Of course I was worried about nothing.  As you know if you've ever read my posts I tend to obsess...

Glad to see that the rest of you are calm and happy and energized as we wait for Monday.  I finally am free of the what if's.

I was so full of nervous energy yesterday that I was caught three times actually dancing   to the music in my head (its for a shrink to figure out why its there in the first place).  Yea it was a private disco party whenever I was alone in the room.

Kae108 whom I met on the RNY board met me for a coffee after the Dr.  We talked about the good bad and ugly of RNY surgery.   It really relaxed me.  She has the same surgeon and also works at the hospital.  One year out and she looks fantastic.

Today I wait for my confirmation call about the time of my procedure.  I'm scheduled for 7:30 am in the OR with arrival at 5:30 am.  Thankfully I'm a morning person.

Let me know how you're doing today!  (You always do.)

Hey Surgery Sisters!  Ok, I'm starting to freak out about the NG tube and the catheter. I know my surgeon leaves both in and I can't stop thinking about them!  UGH!

I have to call after 3:30pm to confirm my surgery time so I'm worried about that too.

Wish I could sleep til Monday!!

Surgery Sisters, I like that!

My call about the time never came so I had to do some tracking to get the information.  The hospital's pre-op nurse was a great liaison.

She page the doctor and the admission's charge nurse to make sure everyone was in agreement about where I was on the schedule.  This is not her job, but someone dropped the ball. She fixed things and made it all better.

I am in at 6:00 am for an 8:45 am surgery, second in the que.  I was hoping I would stay first at 7:30 am as originally scheduled.  The sooner I'm in the sooner I'm done.   The  nurses said I am arriving early enough to  be moved up if there is a cancellation.  Sounds like the first surgery of the day may be a just in case reservation.

As long as I'm done Monday morning who cares if I'm first or second.

As I am posting this, it is already Saturday (barely).....this means just two days just two full days before our surgery!  They called me to confirm today too.  I am to be there at 7:AM, but I am scheduled 4th in line.  I just hope that the Dr. doesn't get tierd. LOL.   Oh well, I don't have any idea what time my actual surgery will be, but I will be there at 7 and wait to see.   I am so ready to get this over with.

I appreciate all your kind words and support.  Good luck to you and we will talk again soon so that we can compare notes.

My arrival time is 8:45 a.m. (PST) and surgery at 10:50 a.m. It dawned on me, most of you will be out of recovery and walking the halls while I'm in surgery (time changes). So, when you are struting your stuff in the halls, save room for me...I will be pulling up the rear (so to speak).
Best Wishes to all!

It doesn't matter whether you're a lion or a gazelle
when the sun comes up you'd better be running.
