I'm back home after 2/3 surgery.  It went very very well - minimal pain (even the dreaded gas pain was vanquished by walkies and Gas-ex).

I'm so grateful for all the suppport and care and *very* excited to be starting this new phase of my life.

Fluffy-n-Cute - how did your surgery go?

I'm so happy to hear your surgery went so well. Thank you for posting about your experience. It really helps those of us having surgery soon see the positive outcome. I hope and pray your recovery continues to go smoothly. Save me a spot on the loser's bench. I have less than a week to go...woo hoo! Gas-X was on of my first purchases in preparation for surgery, lol. Did you use the melt away strips or liquid?

Thanks Amanda (and everyone else!)

I used the Gas-X strips.  I'd recommend taking a sip of water before putting them under your tongue (my mouth was pretty sticky that first day and the strip melted faster after a bit of water).

Glad you are doing so well. As another poster said, I'm still a bit "heavy" through the stomach and achy in my back (nothing different than before surgery though), but I think better each day. This is exciting--isn't it!!! Great idea on the positive visualization. It just serves no purpose to worry and dread. I went to church Sunday before my surgery and it was like the message was written for me--slow down, take time for me--two things I rarely do.

I'm excited to hear how everyone is doing!!

Home from surgery had some problems but I am dealing with them. I left out on oxygen as well as staying in the recovery room for close to 18 hours. The only incision that hurts is the one that had the drain there. Other than that things are good. Trying to make sure I get my protein in and do what needs to be done.
