New Here....getting ready and nervous
My surgery date is Feb 9th here in god old sunny calif. (Santa Cruz to be exact)
I was going over my notes today from the meeting of 10 of us with a dietician and I have decided I really take lousy notes!!!! So now I am getting worried about what to eat and when. Does anyone have a good word doc they can send me with a timeline?? I am having bypass. Everything the dietician said partially changed what was said in a book they gave us. How confusing is that.
Right now I have a clear liquid diet with protein water added for the 2 days prior
Same 2 days after and then I get sunk.....................

Laurie,
Every doctor and dietician has a different process for their patients. Some do a pre-op liquid diet, while others(like me) don't have to. Also, some docs require you to be on full liquids post op for 4 weeks while others may only be 1 day then pureed foods!! So I would strongly suggest that you call your nut and talk to her/him. Thats what your paying them for after all!
Good luck!

You could always post on the main board or on your surgery type board for someone with the same surgeon. They'd be able to give you the information as well.
Contact me at [email protected] for information about the Belleville area support group :) or visit our new OH group page http://www.obesityhelp.com/group/quinte/
The nut should be able to email you something. There is probably a summary or outline the nut has to teach with.

LV'N MY RNY. WORKING FOR ME BECAUSE I WORK FOR IT.
My date is Feb 9th too. My husband is from Felton. Strange how small the world is.
I agree that every Dr. is different. I am on protien twice a day and small meat and salad meal for 2 weeks and then clear liquids 1 day prior to surgery and nothing after midnight day of surgery. It hasn't really been that hard after I got over the initial starvation mode.
Please call the office and have them give you clear directions. They want you drinking protien to help you heal and low calories and carbs to reduce the fatty liver.
Good luck to you......and me too.
