Feb 13th in KY

I got my date on Friday. I rcvd a new packet with all my appts in the mail on Saturday.  I have to go Thurs. for pre-testing & class at the hospital  It is starting to feel like it really happening.

Anybody with the 13th too? 

Nope, not the 13th... but not far behind you.... I'm the 17th.

I'm in KY and waiting my date.  I have an appt with my surgeon on this tuesday.   Hopefully the date will follow soon after that.  Already approved by my ins. company and the surgeon's office has sent me orders to go and finish all my pre-op testing.  What hospital are you doing?

I will be at Norton Suburban in Louisville.  It gets more real everyday.  I went for my cardiac clearance yesterday.

Good luck at your appt for cardiac clearance.  I have had an echo cardiogram, and a stress test so far.  Cleared both!!! Yeah!!!  I had to go on sunday and have an MRSA nasal swab, my surgeon's requirments.  I'm gonna be at Central Baptist in Lexington.  Great weather for me to go the surgeons today.  I'm prayig that they are not closed when I get there this morning.  Appointment is at 730am.

Hey Becca,

Hope you got to your appt okay.  The weather was crazy today.  I went to the cardiologist.  He wants to see an old echo and have an appt scheduled for the threadmill.  I just am nervous.  After waiting all this time, I feel rushed and anxious to get it all in.   OMG, 16 more days.  I am just praying that it will all work itself out.

You are right it was and still is crazy weather.  Looks like you guys got a bad case of it too.  Hope things go well with the treadmill.  It wasn't too bad for me, but I really did get winded really quickly when I had to do mine back in december.  You will do great, and I am sure that those 16 days will quickly turn into 0.  I'll add you to my prayers too.

I got great news.  Surgery scheduled for 2/4/09 at Central Baptist in  Lexington.

I also am scheduled to have lap RNY on February 13 (Friday the 13th, hope it is not a bad omen, LOL).  I will have my surgery in beautiful San Diego, California. 

I will only have to do the liquid diet for one day.  I go for my pre-op appointments on Thursday, February 12, spend the night in San Diego and have the surgery Friday morning.

I am really getting excited.  I know this is the best decision for me.  I hope to control my diabetes and get rid of my sleep apnea.  Losing the weight will make it easier to be more active and enjoy my grand kids.

I still have not told my daughters or my son.  They tend to be really opinionated and try to impose their opinion on me.  I want this to be my own decision.  My friend is going with me to San Diego.  I will have lots of emotional support without unwanted and unrequested criticism.  I am getting everything ready for the hospital and after the surgery so that I do not have to depend on others to care for me.  

I wish you the best on your surgery.  I will be praying for both of us to have no complications and for God to give us strength to tolerate the pain.
