My date is tentative, but this is the date my surgeon is shooting for. It would be nice to have someone to go thru this with. I am F, 44 with 2 young children and a wonderful husband. Looking forward to finding a "buddy"....lol

I will get my date on Feb 4th when I see my surgeon for my last weigh in. I am on a 30 day pre op diet and can't gain any weight. So far I have lost 11.4 pounds.

My surgery date is Feb10th. Im having Lapband too... I am so excited. Can't wait. How about you??? Are you having to do a pre-op all liquid diet for two weeks prior to sx...So not looking forward too it. I have already cut out all soda and im on a very strict diet. I have been on it for 2 weeks already. My surgery center said if i dont lose weight prior to surgery they wont do surgery. Crazy huh...Cant wait to hear back from you

I GOT MY DEFINATE DATE! FEBRUARY 11TH. I have been dieting for the last 6 months in preparation for the surgery. I lost 20lbs and my doc was thrilled. I AM DETERMINED!! It makes sence that he does not want you to gain weight..it just showes him you are not quite ready. Thats what my doc said. I don't have to do the liquid diet deal prior to surgery. I just can't eat after midnight the night before. Lets keep in touch. It will be really nice to have someone that is on the same page. What did you start at for a weight? I was 241 and am 5'6". I have a lot of comobidities. LETS KEEP IN TOUCH.

Hi Kimberly,

IM SO EXCITED FOR YOU.....I started at 352lbs and I am 5'9"and a half... I'm down to 330lbs as of today. I got my pre-op appt with the nurse on thursday next week and then my pre-op appt with the surgeon on friday next week...Its going to go by so fast for both of us...WOOOOO HOOOO
Lets definitly keep in touch. It will be nice to have someone to go through it at the same time together...

Lap Band on 02/11/09

I am going to have my final chat with the pre op Nurse over the phone. I live a long way from the Doc office so they are going to do it over the phone with me. I have my final appointment with the personal trainer on Monday and was suppose to meet with her then. She had to cancel. I am shooting for Tues or Wed. I was supprised that a lot of people had to do the liquid diet thing and they have not told me to do it yet. It may be because I have droped some weight..I have also heard it has a lot to do with the possibility of having a very fatty liver (which all us big girls have...lol) My goal has been to NOT have a fatty liver. Have I asked you where you are yet??? If I have forgive me....lol I am in Maine. I am 44 years old and have two children Hannah (6) Alex (8). I have a VERY supportive husband that is taking a week off from work to take care of me. Have you ever had surgery before? I have had my gal baldder removed and have had the CO2 pumped into my abdomin...that is one of the things I really hate! That gas has to go somewhere and it always to into my shoulders..it is a pain I can not describe. I mentioned this to my dr. and he said that knowing this he will get out as much gas as he can before he closes. I also get VERY nausious from annithesia (forgive my spelling) He said there are a couple of things they will give me prior. I asked all the "stupid" quesitons I could think of ie: will I have a foley? will they make me swollow barium that same day? Lots more...lol Do you have your quesitons ready? I can't believe how fast time is going . I waited so long and jumped thru all the insurance hoops...It is just a couple of weeks away!!!! I doubt you will be up to emailing that evening, but I would love to hear from you before I go into surgery on Wednesday. Kimberly
