Hi Sharon,

I live in the Atlanta area. Not sure which Hospital it will be done in yet. I guess I'll find out on Jan 26 at my initial appt. I'm having RNY. My doctor is Dr. Duncan. I'm so excited. I have come to terms with the risks and am ready to do it!

Hi Amanda, I live in London,On. My preop is on jan 26 as well. I can't believe that it is only 18 days away. I am lucky that I lots of support here in London,On. I have a support group that I went to for the 1st time last nite. I am being done at the Barix Hospital in Ypsilianti, Mich, I feel that I must have this done as my weight is bothering my knees severly at this time. I have other comorbidities. So I am thinking maybe I should have done this a year or more sooner. I am 55 years old. Like you I have come to terms of the risks and I am very ready to do this. Well I should go for now. You can email me at [email protected] not at the address you emailed me. I tried to put this one up but it wouldn't let me.So I will let you go for now. Sharon

CONGRATS!!!!!!!!

Your surgery will most likely be done at Atlanta Medical Center (where the office is) and don't be surprised if Dr. Duncan isn't the surgeon It will most likely be Dr. Hobson, but he is WONDERFUL!!!!!   He did my surgery back in June I started at 275.5 and am down to 173.5. I was terrified before my RNY as I am 36 and have NEVER had any surgery before so I didn't know what to expect afterwards but much to my surprise and relief I had virtually no pain, I did have the soreness and discomfort but no real pain. so don't worry you are in great hands with these Dr.s  Good luck!!!!

Thanks Camila. I'm starting out right around the same weight as you did. I'm pretty sure it will be at Atlanta Medical Center but I have seen on other boards that they use other facilities as well depending on insurance. I had my gall bladder removed 3 years ago so I know a little of what to expect. Plus, my brother had RNY 6 years a go. He did amazingly well. I'm so glad to hear you like the doctors. I have read and heard many positive things about them. I asked who would be preforming the surgery and was told Dr. Duncan but am perfectly fine with Hobson as well.

Congrats on your weight loss. Very inspiring. I hope to be saying the same thing 7 months out.

No Matter who does your surgery I'm sure you will come through it just fine cuz as I said they are all great Dr.s I wouldn't change nothing about my decision to use Peachtree. I'm sure you will do just fine and in 6 or 7 months you will be so happy with your progress just remember to get in plenty of protien and plenty of "exersize"  keep me up to date on how things go for you!!!

Hi, I'm having my RNY on Feb 10th as well.  I am sooo excited!  Does your Dr require a presurgery diet?  I start mine in the morning-5 optifast shakes per day and one small meal.

Yeah....another surgery date buddy. I'm really excited too. I'm not sure about the diet. I meet with my surgeon on the 26th. I guess I'll find out then. No diet this early out though. I have had a stomach bug the past week which has been good for weight loss, lol.  I'm down 8 pounds.
