Surgery date 2/13/09 in Mexico

I've dreamed of being able to say "I have a surgery date" for over 3 years!  Wow, I feel as if I have so many things to do to get ready for the beginning of a new me.  I have unsuccessful battled for insurance approval and so I decided to self -pay and I'm going to have the RNY with Dr. Joya in Mexico.  This was not an easy decision but I have felt so much better since my hubby and I decided to "go for it".   

Anyone else having surgery on the 13th?  And, what is this "angel" thing?

 

An angel is someone who keeps in contact with you and the hospital while you're having your surgery and updates back here on the forum. I know there's somewhere on this site where you can request one but I don't know where.... I asked my best friend to be mine as she had her surgery a couple of weeks ago.
Dr Joya eh? I see his ad constantly at the top of my screen...LOL
I'm really sorry you have to selfpay.... it's so bloody expensive!! In my OHIP approval letter, it says that they're paying $18,850 USD for mine.... yikes! Is the surgery cheaper in Mexico? And are your travel expenses a tax write off like they are here?

I'm having the VSG done in Mexico with Dr. Aceves! I'm excited and more nervous all in one! =) Good luck to you and we'll be joining the "loser's bench" together! yay!
