Hello February Club!
Emily
I live two minutes from my hospital. I've already had a chest xray, bloodwork, and an ultrasound of my belly. I go on friday for an upper GI, blood gases, and a couple other things I can't remember. I go for a nutrition consult on the 21st so I'll go out and buy vitamins after that. I am trying to schedule my psych eval now, and I start a four week medifast diet on the 13th.
I have no idea when I'll get insurance approval..
Edited to add: I am a stay at home mom of four small kids so I don't need to take time off of work, but my husband is taking off from Feb 2nd (when I'm having my gallbladder out and hernai repair) till march 10th..so that gives me about three weeks after surgery.

I'm scheduled for 2/3 and live about 25 minutes from the hospital. So far I've:
- had a sleep study and started with cpap
- met with a nutrionist twice
- had an ultra-sound of my gallbladder
- had a psych eval and met with a therapist
- met with my surgeon
- had lab work done
- sampled protein drinks
- sent off for vitamin samples (still need to get Nut to approve the ones I chose)
- read a lot (recommend "The Real Skinny on Weight Loss Surgery"
- updated my will and wrote a Health Care Directive, got latter notarized
- lost 30 pounds and done "trial runs" of the liquid diet
I still have to:
- meet one more time with nut
- get EKG and chest xray
- have more lab work done
- attend pre-op class
- buy gas-x strips and protein drinks
- 2 two week liquid diet
I'm taking a week of vacation for the surgey and then planning on working from home the next two weeks (my job allows me to work from home whenever I want). A really good friend offered to come stay at the house during this time and my husband has been recently laid off so I know I'll have plenty of post-surgery care and support.
