lab results back

ok so doc called today.. an gave me my lab results. high cholesterol, hypo thyroid, gallstones, gona need my gall bladder removed.. polycystic kidney disease confirmed..(kinda knew that was coming genetic on my moms side) just prayed it would pass me over... and polycystic ovaries syndrome.., on a bright side.. its not gona delay my surgery in any way.. an my diabetes stable my suger levels are great for a change... guess the weight i've lost has made a dramatic difference..6.5 hba1c an it was over 8 a few months ago.. so anyhow more lab tests on jan 5th just to check a few more things out.. when i go in for my last class an check up b4 meeting surgeons..

6.5? Pretty damn good! The rest of it kinda sucks though!! At least the gallbladder they can do at the surgery..... or will you need it out before then? The only thing on that list I don't recognize is polycystic kidney disease. I'm assuming that it's cysts that form on the kidneys but what does it do and what can they do for it? Sorry..... I'm nosey.... .... LOL

 yes they can do it at same time... as other surgrey an plan to as far as i know.. an as for the (pkd) its cysts that form on kidneys an can cause kidney failure over time.. only things that can be done is dylasis

That really sucks! How long does it take usually before a person would need dialysis? Will the weight that will be coming off after surgery help this any?

duno, i only know of my mothers case an she was on dyalisis from late 30's  til she died at 46, an weight cant help it im sure... u know but i dont think being skinny makes much of a difference either..

I didn't know if the cysts were like those of PCOS and the weight loss would really hel*****t. I'm really sorry ro hear about your mom..... she was awfully young! How old were you when it happened?

.. the cysts are simular to pcos from what i understand.. it was a lil over a month after my 16th birthday when she died... but it was all of a sudden i had been prepared for her death my whole life... i took care of her from the time was about 10 i made sure she took her meds, an her dyalisis  she had pertonile<
