I think I was figuring it out at exactly the same time you were posting :)
I'm very lucky - I have a very supportive group of friends (and one of them had the surgery about a decade ago) so I'm getting a lot of good advice and they're planning to help a lot after surgery (staying with me while DH is at work, taking the dog out, making broth etc)
My To-Do list is:
- chest x-ray
- EKG
- physical
- lose at least another 8 poundes before liquid diet
- pre-op class
- get Will, Health Directive and Final Arrangements docs signed and notarized
- put together packing list for Hospital. So far, I've got
- chap stick
- undies x4
- socks x4
- laptop
- robe
- slippers
- book
- ditty bag (personal care stuff)
How about you? What are you planning to do between now and surgery and what are you planning to pack?
