HAPPY AUSTRALIA DAY TO ALL MY FELLOW AUSIES OUT THERE! This will be the last bbq I will be having for a while, since I have to start my pre op diet on Monday, so I might as well enjoy the weekend (2morro is my wedding aniversary so my hubby is takin me out to dinner) 1 last splurge.
New start to my life on Monday and looking forward to it.
Bring on the 20th Feb when I go in for my VSG! cant wait

OMG thats a long time. I decided to do something in November last year after yet another failed diet and my sister having had lap band done.
In december I booked to see a specialist who booked me in on the 20th Jan 08 for the first consult and from there he booked me in to have my procedure VSG on the 20th Feb. I could'nt imagine how you would be feeling having to wait that long I would have gone nuts by now, and here I am compaining that I have to wait 3 weeks!
I have read thru many posts that in America your insurance companies give you heaps of greif, youd think that they would be happy to come to the party as it would benefit them in the long run after all us overweight people are at fault for the health system all the health problems that we have (so to speak).

After all these months...it's official, I have a DATE!!! I am excited and nervous, but so ready to start losing!

My date is also February 25th. I'm at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield Wisconsin. I had to tell my parents after I scheduled my date and I got the reaction that my mom thought it is too dangerous. She made the comment that one lady she knows who just had it done had a heart attack while they were performing the surgery. But...the lady was also in her 50's. So...I told my mom that doesn't pertain to me, since I'm in my 30's.
