My date is Feb 4th & I feel the same way. I'm on the 2 week preop diet required by my doctor for lap RNY. 6th day & I have lost 7 lbs. Trying to find ways to make the optifast shakes taste better. Learning to love raw veggies & veggie broth! It's hard to know what else to do to prepare- I'm finding that not cheating on this preop diet is great preparation because I'm being honest with myself. So discuss your anxiety openly with someone who cares & take all the support you can get! Good luck

I got my surgery date of feb 6th and I am in need of ideas for this Liquid part of this diet. Anyone have something they are eating or should I say Drinking(lol) that might help flavor this grand diet up a bit.....

I will be having my surgery (RNY) on Feb. 7th. I am so excited, but very nervous as well.
I feel like I should be doing something to prepare for the journey ahead. Anyone have any suggestions?

I am scheduled for the 7th what surgery are you having done me RnY. I am in Ca my surgery is at Stanford Hospital in Palo Alto. I am so nervous at this time in a few days I will start the liquid diet for prep before the big day. When do you start the liquid diet some people depending on your doctor have to do it 2 weeks before the surgery. congrats. Im the day b4 you for VSG. I cant wait, I start my pre op diet in 2 days, so the next 2 days to relax ( Australia day 2day, last bbq for a while). Hope all goes well 4 you.

My surgery is scheduled for the same day. I keep getting the same lecture from my mother (who starved herself to lose weight.) I am starting to get the "what if's" about the dangers of surgery. I have two young children who would be devastated if anything happened to me in surgery. I know that if I don't have the surgery, they will feel the same only a few years down the road when I have a stroke or heart attack. For me personally, I can't wait!!!! Good luck with your adventure.
