Topic: RE: Anyone else traveling 2 or more hours to their surgery???
Chrislena,
I told feel your pain..lol,I too had and have to drive 3 hours to my surgeon and I too worried about the same thing BUT try not to get too worked up about it.You have to keep in mind that you are gonna be surrounded by professionals who are specialized in this and I dont know about yours but my doc kept me over night just to make sure things were going to be okay because I lived so far away.If the doctor requires you to stay most insurances will pay for it.Its by no means easy but nothing worth having or doing is! You will be fine and greatful when you finally get back to normal. And as far as the trips, the good news is that it seems to get to be alot easier once you get used to traveling it....or atleast it has with me. If I have someone with me especially it seems to pass by pretty quickly! Good luck!

Topic: Anyone else traveling 2 or more hours to their surgery???
I was just wondering if anyone else had a distance to travel to get to their sugeon. I am a little frustrated because I have my pre op appointment this Wednesday...then I have to go back on Monday for labs...and then back again on Tuesday for surgery. I had hoped they would allow me to have the labs done in the same town that I work in so that I wouldn't have to take off from work so much. This next week is even more crucial for me to be here since I am taking off 2 weeks post op. No matter how far...I am so grateful to be having this surgery!!! I am just worried if something happens and I need to be rushed back to the hospital...it's not a short little ride. That's a little scary. 1 week to GO!!!! YAY!!!!
Topic: RE: Feb. 15 - Surgery Date
Samantha, that is right. No diet, "just smaller portions" is what the nutr said. However, (by my choice) I have been doing the CIB NSA in place of lunch and dinner. And, I do have to do clear liquids 1 day b/f surgery (Valentine's Day) then nothing after midnight. I verified this with doc today. I also stated I would like to get the realize band also. I think I like the online support also. Plus, who knows maybe the online support will help us stay on track even more. I am hoping! Rhonda

It's been 1 year since the Lap Band Surgery and recently I have experienced gas pains just under the lap band and in the upper intestine. Has anyone else experienced this? Any suggestions for remedies?
Thanks,
Karen
