Come and join other WLS friends on a Caribbean Cruise to Lose January 17 2009. I have been working closely with a cruise company specializing in cruises for WLS friends. This cruise has been set up to leave from Toronto or from Detroit with a variety of room choices. For those that have never cruised before, there are lots of things to do. I have been on full fluids since the 7th, so it was 48 hours after surgery. I have found much pleasure in blended up Chicken Tortilla Soup or Corn Chowder with some Tabasco in it. I eat that as much as I can because it feels like I am eating real food

Today was my first whole day on the liquid diet and I have to say it wasn't that bad. I was just putting stuff in my stomach to make it not growl, getting no satisfaction out of it at all. That was until I walked in front school tonight and smelled their dinner cooking. That got me for about a minute then I got my liquids together and did my thing and was over it. Thank goodness I don't have to do any cooking while on this diet. I'm not sure how I would be at this early part of the game.

Congratulations! I wish there had been an option like this for me as a teen. I'mm44 and 4 days out of surgery. I feel good except I have had the diarrhea and it has been awful. This too, shall pass. Keep up the great work!

My date isn't final yet, but it appears to be either the 18th or 25th of Feb.

But since doing the pre-op diet, has anyone else had a major change in the way they view food and the whole eating process? Mind you, I'm a guy that used to love to eat and love to cook the food for the house also.
well, I've come to feel like I only eat to sustain life now, but it hasn't taken the enjoyment out of cooking. Last week, I made two egg omelette's for my SO all week. Not to mention cooking a nice stir fry one night.
I just found it interesting and wanted to ask/share with others.

Thanks for letting us know how you're doing. Glad to hear the pounds are already melting away. Keep us posted on how you are doing. Are you still on clear liquids or have you been cleared for full liquids?

I just started my liquid diet today. My surgery is on 2/21 so I only have to do it for 10 days. Looks like you have a LONG time for yours.
