Prayers coming to you from New Jersey! I'm right behind you on Friday. Best wishes for an easy surgery, a painless and speedy recovery, and successful weight loss.
I'll be thinking about you tomorrow.

I suppose it is different with everyone and every doctor. My doc was GREAT. The pre-op bowel prep was awful the day before but those always are. For me the no drink after surgery until the upper GI to verify no leakage was bad. I was SO thirsty! I'm 6 days out and feel really good today. I'm not thrilled with the liquid diet - but I'll do what I have to do. It's all very doable and nothing you can't stand if you want it bad enough. I wasn't scared. I wish you luck. I did have watery bowel movements that literally just come out at will with no warning for the first 3 days after surgery. I did not really know to expect these and the first happened while I was asleep in the hospital and I was mortified! I used depends and put chucks under me for a few days. My Doc had me take liquid imodium. I guess this is a possibile thing that not everyone gets. I haven't thrown up at all -- yea! Just remember to take it easy and not rush your recovery. GOOD LUCK!

i used to eat the dry hot cocoa powder. get sugar free nestle cocoa packets, empty one into a cup and just eat it with a spoon, dry. be careful not to inhale while you are putting it in your mouth though or you can kind of inhale the powder and cough. but other wise it tastes good and feels like you actually ate it and not drank it.

My surgery is on Monday Feb. 18 and I was wondering was anyone sick from the surgery? Any advice about the surgery would be appreciated. I am nervous as the day becomes closer.

Oh this sounds horrible. Have you thrown up or just had pain? Are you chewing really good? You should probably talk to your doctor. Your pouch opening may need stretched. Can you drink warm drinks? Do they help the pain? I'm still on liquids - only 6 days out so I don't know what to say except talk to your doctor. Hope it gets better soon!

I started my liquid diet today and am not loving it at all. I know I don't have an option, but I am not one to take the time to prepare food. Good luck to you!
Topic: RE: TWO YEARS TODAY!!!!
Congratulations Stephanie! Your snow experience was one I can relate to as recently as last week. We sure have had our share this year. Did you have Gastric by Pass or Lap Band surgery ? Have you experienced any indigestion or a feeling as if you had something stuck in your thoat or just under your chest. This happens almost every time I eat. I had Gastric by pass surgery 4 months ago. I have since lost 60 lbs. It is a fantastic feeling but this other feeling I have every time I eat is troubling to say the least.
Topic: Can't take this pain almost every time I eat!
I had Gastric by Pass surgery 4 months ago. I'am astounded at the 60lbs. I have lost. Although I hardly eat at all. NOTHING tastes the way it used to. The feeling I get in my chest between and under my breasts and at my thoat is very uncomfortable and doesn't make me thrilled about eating. I never experienced indigestion untill after the surgery. Is there anyone who has experienced this same feeling and if you have what if anything can be done to combate this problem.
