Topic: RE: Surgery in two weeks!
Hello, My name is Angel and I am in the same boat as you. I have my gastric Bypass scheduled for 2/27/08. I started the liquid diet today and it sucks. I am keeping track of the shakes that I drink and taking things one shake at a time. I just keep trying to remind myself about the bigger picture and what is to come at the end of all this. Good luck on your liquid diet and surgery.

Tracey, I am a christian. My father is a baptist preacher (now retired). I decided on the gastric sleeve. All the other comments have been great but I just want to add one thing. You will get your own answer from God when you pray. You will either feel PEACE or TURMOIL. If you feel peace than that is your answer. No one can question it. God speaks to us through our hearts. I prayed to God about my frustration with my weight (His temple). Within that week God led me to 2 people who got the lap band - both Christians. I went to 2 seminars and chose the sleeve instead of lap band. But I feel God answered my cry by leading me to these two people. Take care Christine 11 days since surgery.

Topic: RE: Just over a week after surgery .... need advice
Wow, your first appt is a month after surgery? Maybe you can get an earlier appt since you have concerns about the amount of food you are able to eat. As for your 11oz of protien shake, How musch time did it take you to drink it? That is the most important key. If it took you less than 2 hrs than I would ask for an earlier appt. Remember that the surgeons do not fit the band tight during surgery. But I would think your appt would be at least 1-2 wks out from surgery and not a month. Take care

Am new to this site but, have had 3 posts with great Karma.. I'm sorry to hear about your foster child leaving. I can relate on drama pre-surgery, I was sooooo excited and then 2 days ago my 20 year old son who in the U.S. Army just told me he's being deployed to Iraq. He was a full time college student, dorming in his 3rd year. Our life has been turned upside down. I have a heavy heart and my soul is sad but, tmwr 2-19 will come and I am strong in my faith and confident My god will be co-piloting for me and get me thru this... Best of luck to you....

But anyways...back to topic....I had my Lap Band on Jan 30th 08...I asked for 7 - 10 days off....It only took a week and I was soooo ready to get back to work....but my boss went ahead and gave me 2 weeks...which I was glad with.... I just feel like you should really take your time with recovery if at all possible!!! Just remember to not over do anything and you will be able to realize when enough is enough! Ok so....just take care of yourself and let us know how you do...Congrats again! Jessica
