Hi Sandi,
I know exactly how you feel. When i got home i wasn't active at all, i was just sitting in my recliner and watching tv, i could not believe how many FOOD commercial were on tv, and all i thought was "WHAT DID I DO TO MYSELF?. I was watching the DOMINO PIZZA commercial and i was so emotionally devastated.
But once i visited my doctor 10 days after my surgery, he told me that i was 22lbs lighter, and that is when i said all the sacrifies are worth it. you will be able to eat cheese when you get to soft food, and it is only a few days ahead.
Stay strong, walk a little, drink alot (water) lol.
You will be fine. When you feel head hunger drink water, water will fill you up!! . We all go through this. You just have to keep with plan.
God bless you Sandi.

Good luck with insurance. I hope you get approved. I just had my surgery last Thursday, and came home yesterday (Saturday). Feeling okay overall as long as I take my pain meds regularly. No gas pains since I walked and walked and walked while I was still in the hospital.
I can try to help with any questions about RNY.

I am only three days out and am already having head hunger. I know I am not really hungry but I am craving a slice of cheese in a bad way. I won't eat it, I just want it. Has anyone else had head hunger and what did you do to get past it?

Thank you Cari! Nerves is right. I want my anti-anxiety meds NOW!!
Unfortunately I don't have a laptop, but I DO have a Nintendo DS with Sudoku, so maybe I'll bring that along.
Best of luck to you, too. Let's compare notes after our day, okay?

The PJ bottoms is a GREAT idea. That way, robe or not, my fanny's not out in the breeze. And INSURANCE CARD/ID - I didn't even have that on my list. Thanks so much!!
P.S. Did you use the portable fan at all? I do tend to "run hot."

i didn't bring a bathrobe because i knew i was going to have an IV on most of my stay.
i don't see how that would be comfortable.

Cynthia it is very common to lose hair in the front part of your head. I was recommended to use Biotin. I heard too that the hair will grow back after six months but will be thinner and not as full. I went to a support group on Thursday about hair loss, and they recommend extensions if worse came to worse. I also heard there is a shampoo called Folicure that is sold at your local beauty supply store. You may want to start using that right after your procedure. Goodluck.

Evelyn,
I spoiled myself a little bit. I would highly suggest bringing some type of entertainment just in case. I personally do no****ch t.v., so I am bringing my laptop to play games on. My girl friend that had her surgery a few weeks back wanted hers to play with as soon as she came out of recovery. My surgery is 2/29 in San Diego, and I feel the same way as far as nerves go. We'll be fine, and feel so much better. I also bought myself two nightgowns and a robe. They suggest a robe and slippers for sure because you'll be doing laps after surgery to keept he blood flowing. That'd be really smart to bring with you. I wish you the best of luck hun.

IPODs are good too. You will need to start walking the same day of your surgery, so i used my IPOD when i was walking around the hallways.
Hope i helped.
