Topic: RE: 10 days post op-am I weird?
I had my surgery 2-5-08 and have been the same as you. Just like you I don't really feel any diffrent. Not bad, not good. It;s kinda weird huh! I also cheated and had a few bites of pizza (my weakness) and nothing I have felt the exact same. I guess that's good for us! :) Just wanted to let you know that you weren't the only one in that boat! Good Luck to you!

Topic: RE: Head hunger
Hey Sandi! I'm having head hunger as well. Mine is for a nice piece of chicken. I can't wait to be put on pureed food. Never thought I would look forward to drinking a chicken breast! LOL One thing that I have found is I can't stand anything sweet. I tried SF Jello and it was entirely too sweet. Tried a popsicle and just about gagged. I guess that will come in handy later on if it lasts. But I will admit a nice cheesy pizza sounds good. LOL

Hello and thank you for repsonding, each day is a little easier. I am sorry about the milk and that price - ouch!!! I use skim and had cream of wheat this morning. You have lost more post op than I have, however everyone loses differently I guess. According to the scales I have lost almost 16 so thats not bad in two weeks woohoo. Looking forward to talking further - added you to my friend list. Michelle...

Hello Michelle, I had my surgery done on the 13th also. I have been experiencing head hunger from the day I got home. I say it was some kind of withdrawel from the meridia that I was taking to curb my appetite. After reading your post maybe not. I eat cream of wheat and yesterday I changed from non fat to 1% and started to experience a little clammy feeling. Probably small umping. Being the kind of guy I am i did it again just to see if it really has the same effect and it does. Of course I hate to toss out the milk because here in hawaii it's $9 a gallon. I did optifast for 2 weeks before surgery. So far I am down about 45 lbs. We must be on track. I asked my surgeon about the hunger and how I eat SF popsicles to satisfy. He is fine with that as the popsicles contribute to my water intake and they are only 10-15 calories per. I went back to work on my 3rd day post op. I run a transportation company. I am now back into ful swing driving and all. I also had my Gall Bladder taken out and had a bellybutton hernia removed all on the same day I feel good and I might add I look good too. I hope we can stay in contact. It will be interesting to see how we both progress. Aloha

Sorry to hear you aren't feeling well. It's enough that you are dealing with healing from your surgery, but to get sick on top of that must be tough. If you are still running a fever you might want to call your doctor. He should be aware of that. I have to take a lot of pills too and I try to spread them out so I don't get that full feeling you described. Hope you get to feeling better. Sandi surgery 2/21/08
