Michelle, I was throwing up mucousy clear stuff daily and the Dr. said it was dehydration (believe it or not!!) As soon as I started drinking at minimum 48ozs a day, the vomiting stopped. Also, he put me on Reglan (Metoclopramide) to relax the stomach and help me digest. It has helped. Ask your Doc and I hope you feel better soon. Wendy Surgery date 2/26/08 lbs lost to date: 27

So glad you posted this. I had surgery 2/12/08 and have lost about 25 pounds since my surgery date. I lost 17 pounds the first two weeks and only two pounds total for week three and four and then week five and six I lost over 6 pounds and this week nothing. I too find that I get sick a lot. We went to disneyland this week and even though we took an ice chest full of food down to L.A. for me I found it difficult. I had two bites of a pizza (mostly scraping the top off) and then I just feel like it is stuck in the back of my throat. One swift burp and up comes this mucousy stuff. I began feeling fearful that I won't lose the weight. Honestly I think our weight loss is normal. We have all seen gastric bypass work so quickly on some people but quick to us as a spectator watching someone lose weight might be 7 or so months but when it is US that have the surgery we want it NOW!! (At least I do) Hang in there, you are doing great.

hi Racheal I had my surgery feb-22-08 I've lost 35lbs since then but have been sick alot. I thow up most of my meals. my surgeon told me to incorporate more foods in my diet at this stage. but I feel sick. so I'am going back to the soft diet. everyone is different in how they lose weight and the things they can eat. This whole weightloss experience has been trial and error for me I learn though my experiences and reading other post in the OH comm. Good luck to you and don't be discouraged your weight lose journey Hasn't ended it's just began. you sooooo made the right choice you'll see.

You know you are the third person that said after week 8 it get better. If so, man I'm counting down the days. I'm still at 224 lbs no weight loss this week. I found out that I needed to up my protein- so, let's see what happens.

Rachael, I had my surgery on 2/21/08 and have lost 30 lbs total. We all lose at a different rate. I have to admit that I have thrown up more than a few times. Either I am eating to fast or too much. I think too fast. Otherwise I am doing good...haven't dumped yet. Just keep up the good work and the weight will come off as long as you are making good choices. I thought I would have lost more as well but I didn't so that just means I need to make better choices. Sandi

Hi Michelle, I had my surgery on 2-12-08 and have felt GREAT!! I went back to work after a week...have not thrown up at all and can tolerate everything I have tried. I have lost 30 pounds...but felt like that was not enough for 6 weeks out. Some people around here are rockstars and dropping all kinds of weight super fast!! I lost just about 30 before surgery too...with protein drinks 2x a day and one healthy meal. I see my PCP this Friday to talk about my blood pressure meds...they sent me home from the hospital taking only 1/2 of my beta blocker and no Lisinopril or diurectic. It sounds like we are both doing great... we are lucky!!! Keep in touch! Chrislena

I was 2-12-18 as well and am down 33 lbs. today. I do puke about every 3-5 days on something though. I have trouble getting in all of my protein though not my water. i also can't remember all of my pills. I usually get 50-75 percent of those in. How are you doing?? Anyone else???? Donna

Racheal-I feel the same way!! I started at 250 and have lost 33 lbs. My surgery was 2-12-08, and I get sick almost every day on something! I have a friend tell me though that 4-7 weeks were the worst and by week 8, things started to get better. That is what I am hoping for!! Good Luck to you! Donna
