Sounds like you need to give your doctor a call and let them know that you can still eat that much. Sounds like you didn't get much of a fill. I had a RNY Bypass but I am pretty sure that the lap band does work. The weight loss is just slower with the lap band. Sandi 2/28/08

Topic: Help!!! Very Disapointed!!
I had my surgery on 2/11/08 and have had two fills...one today. I have lost a total of 15 pounds but thought that the weight would come off quicker. One of the problems is that during my first fill...my surgeon couldn't find my port and stuck me in another area...not sure of he punctured the band or not. I am able to eat more than a cup and 1/2 of food and feel hungry most of the time. I'm back to liquids because of the fill today. Please let me know if the lapband works?

Hi Barbara: I had surgery on 2/20/08. My procedure was a VSG. I am doing really well and have lost a total of 56 pounds, 34 of them since surgery. I noticed since I have started really exercising I am losing faster. Today is not a good day fo rme I ate some salad on Sunday and Monday and it has not agreed with my little stomach. I have had terrible stomach pains since last night, but it seems to be getting better. I really feel so much better than I did before surgery and am now off my insulin and blood pressure medication. The only medication I take now are my vitamins and antacid. My goal is to be down a 100lbs by June and if I have anything to do about it I will get there. Have agreat evening and good luck... regards Barbara

Topic: RE: Craving Bread and Soda!!!!!!!!!!!
I ate a few crackers or try melba toast. I am not a big bread eater so I have been lucky in this respect and never have drank a lot of soda. I did like a diet Dr. Pepper occasionally and did take a sip of a sprite one day last week and totally regretted my decision. I felt as though my stomach was going to blow up. I was told by my doctors office manager who has also had bariatric surgery to let the coke or what ever you want to drink to either let it go flat or let i****er down with some ice. It is the fiz that will make you regret your decision to indulge believe me.

You are losing fast since your post and surgery you have lost on the average of a pound a day. That is not too shabby. Also keep in mind as you start exercising you will lose faster as you speed up yoour metabolism. I had surgery on the 20th of February and have not had any complications and to date have lost 56 pounds, 20 of it before surgery. Remember you did not gain the weight over night and it will not come off over night. As long as you are losing that is what counts. Good Luck and keep up the good work. Barbara

Topic: RE: Stuck on chicken
Janice: While I did not have the band I had a VSG, but from all my research about the band before my decision to do a different procedure it is my understanding that chicken may be one of the more difficult foods for you to tolerate especially after having a fill. The other food is shrimp. I may also get stuck unless you chew it until it is the consistancy of mush or baby food. Good luck and I hope things are going well for you. Barbara

Well you know I think the working out is doing better for me now! I lost a whopping 3 more lbs. I was expecting more- but I think I will be patient and let it happen naturally. Hang in there as I'm doing.

Hi Racheal - I'm glad you posted this for us FEB FOLKS. My RNY was on 2/25 & I get very fustrated seeing tickers that say the person has lost 40-50 lbs in 6 weeks. I'm 6.5 weeks now & just lost 27 lbs. I'm eating properly, I think, I'm drinking as much water as I can....but I haven't begun working out. Hoepfully once I join a gym & get some cardio in the weight will kick start again. Now I have to get my butt to the gym!

I am fine, I have lost 30lbs but have not lost any weight in the last two weeks. I wonder if I am doing something wrong. I also had the gastric bypass. Barbara
