Topic: RE: Nausea after eating?
Hey Sandi! I am feeling the same way. Even after eating my vitamins I feel blah. It goes away after a while. I do notice that when I wait a good minute or 2 between bites it isn't as bad. It just means I have cold food all of the time. LOL Mine is more of a full feeling constantly after I eat and it sticks around forever. I don't want to drink and have to pu**** when the time comes that I can drink.

Topic: RE: Generally don't feel well
Hi Connie, First of all congratulations!! You are on your way : ) As far as tips... the only think I can tell you is do what your surgeon recommends. I felt a tiny bit nauseated when I first woke up... I didn't try to be brave...I told them and they gave me something in my IV...I also asked for an alcohol wipe to put under my nose because I had heard that helps...and it did. I would just tell you to follow the plan. Drink what is allowed...eat what is allowed...don't move to the next stage before you get permission to do so... and when you do start eating CHEW CHEW CHEW. Don't eat until you are full... stop when you are satisfied. A little will go a long way post op. Everyone's journey is different. I truly believe this is like anything else... you get out of it what you put into it. Keep a positive outlook...remember that you are doing this to get healthy...and that you will be successful. Keep me posted on your progress : ) Chrislena

Hi Chrislena, I am so happy to hear someone say they've had no throwing up! I am scheduled to have my surgery next Tuesday, May 6 and I am so worried about the post-op vomiting that folks keep talking about. I hate throwing up worse than anything - I'd rather have a root canal. Any tips that might have helped you through it so successfully? Thanks Connie

Topic: Nausea after eating?
Does anyone else get nauseated after they eat. It doesn't seem to matter what I eat, I just feel nauseated. I cut my food into very small pieces and chew it to death and don't drink during my meals so I can't imagine what it could be. Anyone else have this? Sandi 2/21/08 258/212/130

Hi - I am Linda. I had my surgery on 20 February 2008 and have only lost 15 pounds so far (8 weeks). I also thought it woudl be a lot more a lot sooner. I don't know if I am doing something wrong. I am seeing the dietician again on Tuesday and will hear from her.

Topic: Massage??
Hey guys. I was just wondering if there was a contraindication against getting a massage now that we have a port? I think it would be okay, by my husband is a little worried about the port. What do you think?

as a lapband patient you have to chew, chew, chew and chew. stay away from dry foods moisture helps (sauces, gravy) and be careful when you microwave your food

COngrats on being 65 lbs down. That is quite and accomplishment! Though others can see the weight loss changes in me, I still can't see it except that my clothes are much too big. Keep up the good work! Sandi

Topic: RE: Weight Loss?
I know what you mean...I had my surgery in February and I lost 12lbs the first month and then 2lbs the following month. I just got my second fill yesterday and hopefully I will have more restriction. I had been exercising some, but not alot...I'm going to kick that up a notch since the weight isn't coming off how I'd like for it to and I've also realized that sometimes I'm not making the best choices with my meals, and I've been able to eat pretty much how much ever I want. Now, hopefully with the 2nd fill and the realization that I need to workout more, the pounds will come off faster! I would suggest to re-evaluate what you are doing and see if there are changes that should be made, or maybe talking to your doctor about getting a fill. Maybe your still eating too much? My doctor said that they would like for me to only be eating 3/4-1 cup per meal. As of yesterday, I was able to eat way more than that if I chose too even though after about 1 1/2 cups of food I was full. Good luck!
