Topic: RE: Anyone having issues with throwing up meals?
I was having this same issue the past two weeks. IMO, I think it is from our pouches are finally healing and we are now feeling alot of the nerves again and our pouches are feeling this food. I talked with my Nut about this and she recommended eating pineapple tidbits with your protein to help with the gastric juices and/or adding Adolfs Meat Tenderizer to the protein to help break it down. My nut said it also has to do with not a lot of acid in our pouches right now (hence the acid in the pineapple and juice). That will start to increase, but slowly. Both of those have been working, not 100% but better. I have been making pineapple a part of my diet. If I know I am going out to eat, I will eat some pineapple before i go. She also encouraged to drink fruit juices like Bolthouse. Very good to. Hope this helps. Tina

Hi Michelle I'm Nanette and I had RNY on 02/18/2008. I'm only down 41 lbs. I get depress because I also thought it would melt much faster. I would love to join your yahoo support group

Hey all, sorry to hear it is going badly for you. I have to agree about the fill. I had my lap band surgery Feb 26 and have lost right at 40 lbs. I was very hungry until I got my second fill which equals a grand total of 4 cc's between the two. Right now I have really good restriction. I may still need a little more adjustment, because I think I can eat about 1 cup. Maybe a little more. But it completely satisfies me for about 3-4 hours. I would absolutely talk with my doctor if you are not satisfied. This is your journey and you should be the one in control. Hope this helps.

Topic: Anyone having issues with throwing up meals?
I seem to do okay with breakfast and lunch (90% of the time), but it seems like every single night I am hovering over the toilet hanging on for dear life. I am not doing anything different and eat very small portions, chew it well and don't drink while eating. I try to eat slow too. It just seems that meat of any type does not agree with my pouch. I added a couple of protein shakes each day to hopefully make up the difference in what I am not keeping down. Any one else having this problem? I see my Dr soon and will discuss it with him. Sandi

I am with you on the nauseated after eating. Except with soft or crispy foods, they go down easily. I have noticed that I now subconsciencly won't eat b/c I don't want to get sick. I know not good. I need to find "real" food that won't make me sick. Other then that I am doing well LOL! Tina 2/25/08 329/257/??

I also notice that I get hot for about 30 minutes after I eat. It's kinda like hot flashes only they aren't hot flashes. Both the hot flashes and the nausea pass after about a half an hour. Maybe I will try to eat slower (if that's possible) and see if that helps with the nausea. Thanks for the response. Sandi
