I am about 5 1/2 weeks post op and am craving some bread and coke so bad. If I drink any more Chrystal Lite and Water I feel like I'm going to scream. Does anyone know of anything else I can drink. Also, I know the Dr. said no rice, pasta or bread, but I feel like I really want something bready? I don't like flatout wraps, any suggestions?

I left a diet soda open in the fridge and had a little bit the day after flat. I won't say it was great but it was okay. I do eat wasa bread every now and then for my bread craving but bread is what I miss the very most....warm sourdough with butter.....I can barely stand it.

I ate a few crackers or try melba toast. I am not a big bread eater so I have been lucky in this respect and never have drank a lot of soda. I did like a diet Dr. Pepper occasionally and did take a sip of a sprite one day last week and totally regretted my decision. I felt as though my stomach was going to blow up. I was told by my doctors office manager who has also had bariatric surgery to let the coke or what ever you want to drink to either let it go flat or let i****er down with some ice. It is the fiz that will make you regret your decision to indulge believe me.

I think you are craving the bread & soda so bad because your body is trying to keep u fat. I know it sounds crazy but i never liked bread & all i want is a sandwich & spaghetti, honestley your body got so used to being the size you were its trying to maintain your weight. its nothing you can control until your body relizes that your not starving yourself, & that its actually healthier at a lower weight. eat crakers, or small peices of toast. & you can eat rice & pasta in very small amounts & make sure its cooked if not over cooked because pasta bread & rice expand in your stomach as the soda does. pasta & rice are one of the only foods that do not bother me, so i eat them in very small amounts like you would feed a toddler. thats just my opinion.
